Smothered Pork Chops Prep: 5 min, Cook: 15 min.

4 pork loin chops, bone in 1 onion, coarsely chopped 11 ounces condensed cream of mushroom soup 1 tsp. dried thyme 1/2 cup water Season pork chops with salt and pepper to taste. Spray a heavy nonstick panor Dutch oven with nonstick cooking spray and place over medium high heat.Cook pork 2 minutes per side, or until browned. Transfer to a platter. Addonion to drippings in pan and cook 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently. Whiskin remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil over high heat. Return pork andany accumulated juices to pan. Reduce heat to medium low, cover pan andcook about 7 minutes, or until pork is cooked throughout.

Per serving: calories 213, fat 10.5g, 46% calories from fat, cholesterol71mg, protein 23.9g, carbohydrates 4.3g, fiber 0.3g, sodium 388mg.

Baked Pork Chops

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method-------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/3 bag Barbecue pork rinds -- crushed 1 slice diet wheat bread, processed to fine crumbs 2 teaspoons dried rosemary 2 Tablespoons dried parsley 1 teaspoon garlic salt with parsley 1/4 teaspoon paprika 1 teaspoon seasoned pepper 1 teaspoon thyme 1/2 cup water 1 Tablespoon whipping cream 1 egg 4 thick cut pork chops 1 Tablespoon oil

Preheat oven to 350.

Combine crushed rinds, bread crumbs, rosemary, parsley, garlic salt with parsley, paprika, seasoned pepper and thyme in medium flat bottomed bowl or pie plate.

In small bowl, combine 1/2 cup water, 1 tablespoon whipping cream, and 1 egg.

Dip pork chops in water mixture and then in seasoned crumbs pressing to coat well.

Place coated chops in large cake pan which has been coated with 1 tablespoon oil.

Yield 4 servings at 3.05 carbohydrates per serving.

Bake chops in 350 oven for 30-45 minutes, or until juices run clear.

Melt butter in skillet. Over moderate heat, cook mushrooms, stirringoccasionally. After 5 minutes when mushrooms are nearly brown, pour ff & set aside.Add olive oil to film bottom of skillet and turn heat on moderately high.Brown chops 3-4 minutes on each side. Sprinlie with salt & pepper. Reduce heat to moderate low and add onion & garlic. Sprinkle with parsley and oregano, cover and cook over low heat for 20-25 minutes.

Remove chops and keep warm. Add stock or wine to pan. Turn up heat and boil 2-3 minutes, scraping bottom to deglaze. Remove from heat and add mushroooms and sour cream, stirring to mix. Heat if needed. Pour sauce over chops.

Preheat a wok or large skillet over high heat until it begins to smoke.Immediately add half the oil. and the pork. Cook until the pork browns (stirit once or twice) and no pink is left. Then remove with a slotted spoon andkeep warm.

Lower the heat to medium and add the remaining oil. Add the garlic and theonions and cook, stirring occasionaly. When the garlic just begins to color,add the spinach and stirring frequently, cook until the spinach wilts. Addthe pork back in and stir for about a minute. Add the soy sauce and limejuice. Serve immediately and top with the miced chives.

Don't make this now a as it will have too many carbs for you while on

this contest as you know you say you like to eat the whole thing. A can of

mushroom soup has 8.8 g of carbs per 125ml serving or in DR A's book he

says a cup of mushroom soup is 10 carbs. This is hard for me to figure out

as is it with or without the milk?. A can is 10 oz or 284ml. And an onion ,

2 and a half inches in diameter is 10 carbs. Either way I think you should

wait and make it for me instead

Dear norma i have found that most recipies calling for mushroom soup you can

make with a little broth and cream and they taste just fine and dandy :) i

joined that campbell soup list for some ideas but i will add my own stuff

instead of soup todays was stroganoff i have left over london broil so i

will make that with some broth and a bit of dried onion and mushrooms and

add some cream and sour cream insted of their mushroom soup
