Guest guest
ED!! We miss you around here. So glad to hear from you again. Sorry you are not yet dx.....and that is having problems. How are the kids?? We miss your humor. You mean so much to all of us. In prayer, Zanna
Guest guest
Thanks Zanna. Personally I think I've narrowed it down to Fibromyalgia coupled with Chronic Myofascial Pain (FMS/CMP). The CMP part is what would be causing my mobility problems. It's either that or some mitochondrial defect we'll need a live biopsy study done to dx. I look back over my Test page and I have to laugh at how slow and repetitive everything has gone. 1 Rheumatologist who probably wasn't familiar with FMS and CMP together (I actually found it either by accident or act of God. I'm not sure which). 30 Neurologists if you count the four teams with interns that saw me at Walter . The neuros basically did the same tests over and over. With the exception of the Single Fiber EMG that would have been needed to show Myasthenia Gravis. They didn't do that one. Or the Tensilon test. Or a spinal tap (excess imunogoblin or substance P). I just have to laugh. I'm not even a doctor. Actually I feel like the coyote on the Road Runner cartoon. LOL. If I can find my humor I'll start putting it back in here!! Take care, hope you're doing ok these days. Ed > ED!! > We miss you around here. So glad to hear from you again. Sorry you are not > yet dx.....and that is having problems. Guest guest
Hi Ed and ! It's so good to hear from you, "comical" or not. I still remember how I felt pre-diagnosis, and it certainly was the worst. I wish you and the best. Thanks for staying in touch. Annette -----Original Message-----From: Ed Rodgers Sent: Friday, September 27, 2002 7:55 PMTo: OurMyositis Subject: Rodgers UpdateHi gang. In case you thought we all fell off the planet, we didn't. Since last time has been in CCU again and I'm still not diagnosed. came out ok. They didn't find anything new. What was wierd was that she was having chest pains. Her pains have only been in her arms before. She has a new doc now who has upped her insulin intake. It seems to be working better. She screamed the first time she tested her blood sugar and it was under 200. That was a few weeks ago.The Navy is making me go to Mental Health (to get the block checked) before they go ahead with the disability retirement paperwork. I'm ok with that. God has blessed me with a full paycheck for the past two years plus when the Navy didn't have to keep me around that long. Seriously, they normally do a medical board after 30 days of light duty. They usually only keep you on temporary limited duty for up to 16 months IF it's expected you'll be treated and returned to full duty status. So I can't complain.Hope you're all doing well here. I'll try to check in more often. I'm still not feeling very comical.Hugs and blessings,Ed

Guest guest
Ed, You sure do sound like a doctor! You probably know more medical terms now than you ever thought you would! Did you say that they ruled out MG? Gosh, I hope they find something soon and that those 'head' doctors don't try to tell you that that is your problem. I know you won't stand for that anyway-you better not. I am doing OK. Brody is 4 now and getting to be so much fun! Kylie is preteen (need I say more??). She has a very busy social life. I don't see her a whole lot! I am feeling very tired. I had my first IVIg and am waiting on word as to when my next one will be. Hope I feel some improvement after the next one..... Take care, and keep those doctors searching til they give you a definite dx..... Zanna

Guest guest
Hi, Ed!!! So good to see you posting. And please don't feel as if you have to be a comedian when you do post....we're just happy to hear from you! I'm so sorry to hear that you're still not diagnosed. How absolutely maddening!! I can't imagine how discouraged you are at this point. Are they going to continue testing you for different things? I sure hope they're not giving up and either are you. I hope 's feeling better now. It must have scared you both pretty badly. Give her out love, as well. Take care of yourselves and please pop in a bit more often. We miss you. Dawn Ed Rodgers wrote: > Hi gang. Guest guest
Pretty good, thanks. I was denied for a 2nd time by CPP for my Disability and am quite discouraged about that, but otherwise, fine. I'm going to Montreal on the 23rd of Oct. to see a Neuromuscular specialist for another assessment and hopefully she'll write a killer letter on my behalf so I'll win this appeal. Thanks for asking... Dawn Ed Rodgers wrote: > Thanks Dawn. How have you been lately? > > Ed > > > > > > > Hi gang. Guest guest
Hi Ed... I'm doing fine, thanks. No more poetry, though...no time for writing lately because I've been busy doing illustrations for a children's music book that is almost ready. It's going on the web by mid-October. I'll let you know when it's on and what the web site is. I think it's pretty neat. It's geared toward children from age 4 through 9 and it comes with a CD with the music and lyrics. I'm quite proud of it. It was a collaborative effort between the composer and lyricist, four elementary teachers, a school principal and me. Now I'm starting the next series of illustrations for the second book. Feels good to be "contributing" again. Best to you. Annette Rodgers Update> > > Hi gang. Guest guest
Guest guest
WOW, that sounds like some cool work you're doing. I'll have to check it out. If it's for ages 4 through 9 I should understand it ok. Take care of yourself, Ed > > Hi Ed and !
