Guest guest
Dear Group: Has anyone used bovine colostrum capsuls with the chinese herb astragalus? Our community has been flooded recently with people urging us sickies to buy, buy, buy their products. I have gone off remission a year ago and have pleurisy and bad RH again. I am still on the AP plus rheummy put me back on trex and plaquinel and I am hoping for another remission altho Dr M. indicated it probably willnot come soon if ever. Now how about this bovine stuff. Do you think it is worth adding to my regimine maybe? Thanks LOL Janet-Montana RA l987

You have to ingest neural tissue of an infected cow to contract BSE (mad cow disease). You can not get BSE from eating a filet mignon! The way BSE has found it's way into the human food supply is in " pre-ground beef " for hamburgers and sausages where neural tissue ended up in the " mix " . This being the case, colostrum should (operative word here is " should " ) be completely safe. j. ------------------------------------ ph A. Guest guest
Actually, I had not even considered the mad cow disease; my doctor absolutely wants me on it but think this is worth a phone call to the office to ask staff ($150.00 for phone conversation to him) and if they don't know, will wait and ask him on my visit to him in April. I will be sure to pass this info along to all. Guest guest
Hi all, I was diagnosed with dermatomyositis in Oct94, non-hodgins's extranodal plemorphic large B-cell lymphoma in June00, MCTD July00(probably had this all along with very mild crest syndrome). I started the AP in June98 which helped me get from 15mg prednisone down to 7mg. I also started taking colostrum around the time that told about how it helped her. I also added Moducare as it is supposed to help bone marrow recover from chemotherapy. My iron levels increased so I'm assuming it did its job. I also took astragalus. None of these have done me any harm. I get blood work done once a week. I have more strength now than in a very long time. I am still a long way from DM and MCTD remission and am hopeful that the chemo and alternative actions I took has gotten rid of the cancer. I also take Dr. Burgstiner's thymic supplement. I attribute all of these, as well as other supplements for my increased energy, strength, nearly non-existant pain, and overall feeling of being near " normal " again. HTH Carol/Piney/Canda ps I am not the least bit worried about Mad Cow disease. rheumatic Bovine colostrum > > > > > > Dear Group: > > > Has anyone used bovine colostrum capsuls with the chinese herb > > > astragalus? Guest guest
Joe - O.K., this I didn't know... that you can't get mad cow disease from steak (not a steak eater,. but my Joe loves his beef...) Are you sure of this? I'm not panicing, but after a while, what with the genetically engineered fruits & veggies, the chemicals, metals and everything else in our food and water supply, you wonder why everyone isn't sick... Guest guest
I am not on it. In fact, I have skimmed over all the discussions in the past as it was not something I was taking and did not think I needed anything else. But maybe if this turns out that I need to quit the colostrum after I talk to the doc, then will certainly look into it. I just have stayed too well not to do something. Guest guest
Hi Joe! Geoff Crenshaw here. Nice to see your name (OK, initial) again! Say, I had heard that BSE originating vector study is still very much in the research stage. I don't know if that is the case today - been about a year and a lot can happen in that much time. Have they nailed it to neural cells only? That could be good news for dairy devotees. I'm not quite sure how it would help beef eaters as one can't separate the neural pathways from the musculature nor organs .. could be tough for the bone eaters/users too as slaughter houses are, well, not really great places. What I came across (dated) was BSE being concentrated in the bone of the infected animal. There was conjecture about bone " meal " containing the agent and being " inhaled " by gardeners using it around their roses and such. The theory impressed certain cases of Alzheimer's as actually being BSE. I haven't heard anything about it passing the placental membrane nor into breast milk (man nor beast) one way or the other. Now just in the last week or two I see BSE has been found in certain wildlife (Elk, I think) in the States, near the American-Canadian border. I'm not sure where, exactly. Probably one of those states with six people, like... MONTANA! (Or maybe WYOMING!) :^) Seems our friends to the North have gotten tagged with BSE in their livestock and the silly Elk, if that's what the carrier is, can't see where the border is and like to eat the cattle feed. I suppose if one is seriously interested in BSE a search on Medline and other medical/scientific and ag-related sources would produce some answers pretty quickly. Being one of those six people in Montana, I can tell you it was an elk that was transported in a large group (do they run in groups?) to a ranch in Oklahoma or Texas and then when ill traced back to the place of origin on the highline (Montana/Canadian border to you) At this time, we are not worrying about that as much as the new alert that those living in the Flathead Valley (again toward the border) cannot eat the fish in the lakes or streams due to the high mercury levels. Again, so far in this big city of 100,000 (the biggest metropolis in Montana), we are not affected and can eat our fish. Guest guest
Suisan, `I have used Immune Tree colustrum for years. When I began it, it caused a herxheimer reaction. Now, of course, I cannot say what it does except that as an SD survivor, I am doing well. This is one of those I hope not to discontinue. On an aside, I have a friend who had such teeth and gum problems that her dentist wanted to pull all her teeth. She went on the colostrum and while she is not well, her dentist is amazed that her gums have healed to an extent where he does not want to pull them but just continue to watch. Now if i could only get her to take the aloevera capsules, I would be even more pleased for her. rheumatic bovine colostrum Hi guys...Susie here. Has anyone ever taken bovine colostrum and if so, what results did you have? To unsubscribe, email: rheumatic-unsubscribeegroups
