Guest guest
Satnam, I know Im very new at this diet but because Im new Ive just learned some of things and they are fresh in my mind. As far as I know, Austins dietician told us that we cannot combine meals. For instance, we cannot save snack and put it with his meal for a little extra. Each meal/snack has to be eaten pretty much on a schedule and if he doesnt eat something within a 20 minute period, it has to be thrown out and not saved. So, I would assume that combining her snacks would be a no-no. I may be wrong because like I said, I am a newbie at this, but just thought I would try to be of help. I hope I made some sense to you also!..........Tammy
Guest guest
Thanks Tammy, I think maybe you are right. I thought I had read that somewhere, but I wasn't sure. Sometimes getting Kristan to eat her snack is a battle and it's not enjoyable for her. She recently started solids and we are going slow, and there are days where she just won't want to eat. Guest guest
Satnam, I would run your idea by your dietician. Ours started us on 4 meals, no snacks. We had one week to be on the diet, after initiating, before school started. The 4 meals worked fine at home but at school she got headaches in the late morning. I was sending jello (free food for us) for morning snack time, but since it has no calories, it didn't provide any energy. For three days in a row, I picked her up at school about 11:00. Since she was home, she ate lunch an hour earlier than she would have eaten at school. Then she was fine for the rest of the day. I asked the dietician if we could split a meal and let her have a morning snack. She said to give it a try... it worked!! So her routine is... meal, snack (1/2 meal), meal, snack, meal. She finishes dinner about 30-60 min before going to bed. She eats breakfast within a half hour of getting up. So... I don't think it would be bad to combine two snacks. I can see why combining a meal and a snack would not be wise, because that might be too many calories at one time. If you did combine her snacks, you would be doing 4 meals per day, 3 at 150 cals and one at 100 cals. I think you are right about feeding the smaller meal in the afternoon. If you wanted to be perfectly consistent, you could even give her 5 meals at 110 cals. each and spread them out equally throughout the day. Like I said, ask your dietician first. They all seem to have a few different ideas. I'm quite sure mine would say o.k. Good Luck... Cammie > Hi everyone, Kristan is to have 3 meals/bottle plus two snacks per > day.
