Guest guest
When I was on Nutrisystem, don't let them fool you. I WAS hungry a lot. I hungered in between meals. I got nervous. I lost weight, though. :-) TaiTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Sent: Thursday, August 25, 2011 4:58 PMSubject: Re: Hunger?!?!?! My point exactly. Mimi, thank you so much for the specific reminder. LOL !! "I was eating constantly." So glad to laugh. AND at the same time, I have to allow others to do what's working for them at the moment. I know people who are still following a weighed and measured food plan in Overeaters Anonymous - for decades. I really have no right to question what's working for someone else. I can only question it for me. > > > > > Â > > Ha. I cannot believe that I am posting so much today. I also laugh when I think of telling most anyone who's out there - expert in the diet field, or my expert dieting friends - that I am waiting for true hunger. Most of the diet books and articles I ever read WARNED GREATLY against hunger - oh my, oh my!! At all costs, do not get HUNGRY. Eat lots of low calorie foods so you, heaven forbid, will NOT GET HUNGRY. Sorry, everyone. I just have to laugh. What we're doing is so opposite from the norm - the dieting norm. My wish for you today is that you are defiant against that blasted norm - and practice IE so that you are at peace. Yay! >
Guest guest
Yep. I think you're right to remind us not to be judgemental. If it works for them, who are we to say otherwise? I think one of the beauties of IE is to let everyone do what is right for their body and mind. Good call. Guest guest
Yes, and I think the reason so many diets tout not being hungry is that if you are hungry on their diet you are NOT ALLOWED to eat. For instance, if you've eaten all your point and you're hungry, you're screwed. I think it's just another way of saying that the diet satisfies you, even though a lot of them don't. Mimi Subject: Re: Hunger?!?!?!To: IntuitiveEating_Support Date: Thursday, August 25, 2011, 5:17 PM Thank you!!!!You have once again hit the nail on the head. I hadn't even realized it. That's what they were saying at Weight Watchers all the time--how to eat (your measly paltry no way it could possibly be enough food) 21 points (translated into 1200 calories, which might be enough for me if I were in a coma) so that you wouldn't get hungry. I was ALWAYS hungry--but it wasn't good. Now I'm very much enjoying my hunger!Tilley
Guest guest
IE is wonderful. But many of us are not in tune with our bodies, which is why we need to learn and understand what makes our bodies tick. :-) I like hearing other people's experiences and learn from them. That is why I share my experiences sometimes as well. We can fine tune our thoughts and feelings by listening and sharing. Have a nice evening! Guest guest
If diets worked, I'd be on one. If they worked for the long term, after I lost the weight as well, I wouldn't be here. I'd be on a diet and pro9bably never say a word against it.To: IntuitiveEating_Support Sent: Friday, August 26, 2011 8:50 AMSubject: Re: Re: Hunger?!?!?! Yep.
