Hello all....

I will strive to be brief. I am a 36 year old female living in

Cleveland, OH, diagnosed 4 1/2 yrs ago with RA after the birth of my

first child (c-section). Some of the test results....My ANA was

positive and the ANA Titer was 1:320 (this means nothing to me). My Rh

factor was 94. My doctor wanted to put me on methotrexate but I was not

ready to take such a toxic drug " for the rest of my life " . After a lot

of experimentation with " natural remedies " , I started antibiotic therapy

15 months ago and I am one of those immediate miracles on the

minocycline (100mg 2x/day). While my doctor at the Cleveland Clinic

continues to prescribe it she remains skeptical to say the least. She

says it is apparent my swelling has decreased but I now have some

erosions showing on my feet and damage is continuing. I tell her....I

went from not being able to pick-up my children, pull a weed, walk

upright for the first hour of a day to now just having memories

(nightmares) of that. I have zero pain.

Now my questions....I don't know where to go from here. So 1) Does

anyone out there know of a doctor near Cleveland who is an advocate of

this therapy (and thus knowledgeable on treatment protocal)? 2) I

have an appt. with my doctor on the 24th of this month....what tests

should I ask to be taken in addition to x-rays? And 3) just to

complicate things, we are thinking about having a 3rd child but I am

concerned about the minocycline losing it's effectiveness once I return

(if I need to return) to it after having the baby and nursing the baby.

Thanks in advance and I would really appreciate any/all input.

Molly
