Guest guest
Got my final child's stool analysis back - interesting, she's NT, although had always been " too sensitive " - cried really, really easily. Also would cry out in the night often. When we started SCD she got dramatically better - MUCH MUCH less crying, generally happier, sleeping soundly all night instead of crying out (which some theorize is reflux in these children but I never saw any other signs of that in her, but who knows). She's also always had yucky stools. As would be expected, her stool analysis came back with 3 in the " imbalance " category (2 at 4+ which seems to be the highest), and 2 in the " dysbiotic " category, both also at 4+. This was done at 10 weeks SCD. (No yeast, by the way!) This was before we used much acidophilus, so my guess is that to some extent it should be better now since we are using acidophilus every day now, however, I know that she still has something funky going on because her stools are still, well, yucky. We've been SCD for 3 months now. For the dysbiotic flora, they give a sensitivity chart showing which antibiotics and natural agents the bugs are sensitive and resistant to. All 3 bugs, the 2 for this child and the 1 for my other NT, are sensitive to capryilic acid in the natural agents category. (I will NOT be using antibiotics!!) Does anyone know anything about this - what dosage to give, is this going to kill off the good bugs, too, should I try it (I did get some at a good HFS today - only legal ingredients and the label says they guarantee no hidden ingredients such as starch et al) - or should I go back to the intro for a while with her and work up gradually and just try to let the diet and the acidophilus do their job and not use this at all?? Thanks, Alice, Mama to , 7, ASD, SCD 3 months
