Guest guest
When I say Mike used to have 150-200 seizures a day I mean - tonic/clonic, complex partial, absence, myoclonic, and drop attacks combined. The latter two are what he had the most of, especially after the diet squashed the complex partials and sent the tonic/clonics into the night (Mike only had them when sleeping before they were also gone completely!) Jenn 200 seizures a day I keep reading that people were haveing 150 - 200 seizure a day...what type of seizures are you talking about.....including the postictal period, ther is not enough hours in the day for my daughter to have that many tonic clonics.....are you talikng abut myclonic??? Please help me understand.... people ask me how many seizures we have a day...am I to count the myclonic too? Thanks Dina (Sydney - 2 1/2 years, starts keto next month, myclonic, tonic- clonic, drop and absent, 13 unsuccessful meds.) Guest guest
When Broc was having this many a day the majority were head drops that were probably not noticeable by the majority of people because they are so quick. Guest guest
Dina, Yes, you count all the types of seizures that Sidney is having. The post ictal period after a GTC doesn't count as a seizure. But, if Sidney had another type of seizure while still PI, that seizure counts. Our daughter often had about 6-8 myoclonics right together (cluster) then went into a GTC. She would sleep for about an hour and when she woke up, but still not fully recovered, she would have more myoclonics. So, that would be something like 10-15 seizures in a two hour period. Generalized seizures other than tonic or clonic usually have a short PI period, if any. After a series of absence seizures, our daughter seemed post ictal for about a minute (which seems like forever). She also had full body drops (atonic) and ataxic seizures. Keeping track of them was often quite challenging.
