Guest guest
Lynette: It would appear that there are multiple myeolomas and there is little they can do. You need to conference with all your doctors, primary, oncology, radiation and surgeon and have them give you a direct answer. I don't know about your religious preferrences but I do belive in the power of prayer, that faith can move moutians and that sometimes we have to let go. Many people will write to yo and offer hope and support. How much does your dad know? Does he want to know the truth. Is there a hospice group in your area. They are marvelous not only in care but in support. Take care of yourself,it's a big burden to carry so stay strong. Hugs prayers and love Nickn Jane

Guest guest
, Thanks for the info. Why did they decide to do the surgery initially instead of starting you on chemo and then doing the surgery? I was diagnosed about 2 months ago and immediately began chemo (folfox 6 + avastin). I am getting rescanned next week (which I am SO nervous about) and am going to fly out to CA to see an oncologist and also a surgeon who both came highly recommended. I am really looking forward to seeing the surgeon b/c I know that surgery is really the only way to CURE (per se) this scary disease. Hopefully things will go OK with the scans and maybe they can do surgery. I have a small (2cm) tumor in my colon and also mets in the liver, which they are trying to shrink with the chemo. My numbers (CEA) have gone down a little (from 543 to 517). This doesnt seem like a big drop but its going down so I guess thats something positive:) Anyway, thanks again, and good luck with everything.
