Guest guest
, Have you tried the chicken pancakes or chicken cupcakes yet? I know you mentioned that they won't eat meat... What about spaghetti sauce with the meat pureed into it, then put on spaghetti squash? On the phenol issues, I would recommend No Fenol. It seems to be better at dealing with phenols than the Phenol Assist. Jody mom to -6 and -8 SCD 23 months
Guest guest
, I haven't heard of anyone having success with the Phenol Assist with phenolic foods and some saying it didn't work at all. A couple people said you really have to buy two products, Phenol Assist but someone else, for phenolic foods - but it still didn't work. Houston's No- Fenol was the first product to address the phenol issue and it works very very well, so you might want to consider that. Here is more on enzymes and these 'phenol' enzymes: http://www.enzymestuff.com/nofenolfile.htm .

Guest guest
, My son is very phenol sensitive and we have doing scd for almost a year now. I tried almond a few times as its flavor is great, however the reactions are terrible. We use pecan, hazelnut and cashew as the nuts. However I do not use them daily. I knew of my son's sensitivity to phenol prior to scd, so we never relied on almonds much. My point is that the diet can be done successfully even without the use of almonds. The kirkman Lab product phenol assist used together with another product, were of no help at all for my son. The Houston's No fenol does help but not to the point that I can feed my son high phenolic foods without any restrictions. It allows for some addition but still in small quantities and not daily. So I would try the Houston's products first. Also consider using the other Houston's enzymes. It made a huge diference in my son's digestion. It is really good. I also use honey very, very sparingly as I find to be worst then the almond for my child. So if you are going to use the pecan flour or butter, but use a lot of honey on the recipe, you may still see reactions and think that is the nut, but it could be the honey. I hope this help.
