You need to get blood work such as ASO and anti-Dnase antibody titers to see if

there has ever been a strep exposure, in the present or past. PANDAS experts are

finding that not only strep is causing symptoms of PANDAS, but mycoplasma

pneumonia (test myco-p IgA and IgM), lyme, and viral infections. Strep is often

the first infection to start it, but any of these subsequent infections can

exacerbate the craziness again.

watch him hit his head and bite and scratch himself/others. I am afraid he is

going to hurt his sister. I can tell something is coming out of him right now

because he is very raspy and sounds like his throat hurts. How bad do you let it

get before you call it quits.....it is really affecting everyone in our

home.....

Talked with the DOC....THANK GOD for our DAN docs! He is going to run the

bloodwork but is convinced that a round of zythromax is in order to see how he

responds.....Worth a try.....I will try anything at this point!

Thanks!

Kasey, OLE and Enhansa (with No-Phenol) helped my son. It took 3 weeks and we

had on and off fevers, but he stopped kissing the walls (literally).

Did these behaviors start immediately or a week or two after starting? He may be

having an ammonia problem from killing off so many bugs. Try some yucca root and

upping his probiotics. Threelac is a good probiotic for this. Also for ammonia

L-citrulline and AKG are good as well. Good luck!

It's been about 5 weeks and seriously I don't know how much longer I can watch

him hit his head and bite and scratch himself/others. I am afraid he is going

to hurt his sister. I can tell something is coming out of him right now because

WE are using Dr Usmans biofilm protocol in conjunction with azithromycin to treat my sons PANDAS and we are eeing very good things across the board: happier child, aggressions are gone, anxiety is way down, language is up, math/handwriting has improved, less OCD but still there. Overall we are happy w/ his progress over the past 30 days.

Dear Kacey---we had our child on Valtrex alone for 59 days and it was 55 days of meltdowns--we just could not stand it any more --two days after we stopped --she had the best 6 weeks ever--Stan I think used Valtrex for 11 months---I could not have done that---but her HHV-6 titers came down--I was told the Valtrex probably did it--best to you allSubject: Re: Don't know how much more I can take......To: mb12 valtrex Date: Saturday, January 29, 2011, 7:12 PM

: When you finished with the Valtrex, did you stop because the meltdowns stopped and you felt that she didn't need it anymore?  At what point did you decide to stop?  And I'd like to know, too, if you kept up a maintenance dose?

I just stopped at day 50 of high dose (had been doing low dose valtrex since

april10) because of the meltdowns, all the negatives in school, etc. I stopped

because I can't take it anymore with no gains and only negatives.
