And I send a hug to you right off ne . I am glad to know that your Mother passed in a soft pain free way. I am sure she knew you all were there and surrounding her with so much love. I have breast cancer. One of the less than 5% rare types, Medulary . Non- hormonal. Original date of fiding it was Dec. 2000 , and I found it myself. I had just turned 40 and thought , yep time for the yearly mammograms now !! So as I was getting ready for work , and going to call the Doc for a appointment - I checked while showering. Small pea size hard lump in left upper breast. Did the mastectomy, chemo and rads - and was in remission for 3 years. It came back as a tumor under my beast bone, and 2 small ones in the left lung. I have had over a year and a half of chemo now again. Which they have exhausted all kinds I can have .... A week ago they found 4 lesions in the right brain. I am doing WBR or whole brain radiation right now until the 6th of next month. I was slated to be in a VACCINE clinical trial on the 25th ( first vaccine shot) , but that is on hold for now. They saved my stem cells, and they can unfreeze them for the shot.......I just need the rads to work !!!! Hope to get to know you all , and be here as a friend and support - whatever is needed ya know !?! Guest guest
Welcome to the group. Being scared is normal. The fear of the unknown is the worst. I was diagnosed in 1990 with Stage II, I had one bad node, 6 months of chemo and no radiation or reconstruction. I just celebrated my 15th year. I will keep you in my prayers.
