Try tjobs.com or about.com under telecommuting. Also, you can try the company and I work for if they have an office in your area. If you don't remember their website when I told you before, write me and I'll send you the info. I think you are making a good decision. There is NO WAY I could go back to working outside the home right now. I have backslid some since I started working again, but it has not been nearly as severe as what happened to me when I was trying to work jobs outside the home, or full time jobs. That would begin to wipe me out within a few months, and I rarely ever made it over a year in an outside job without a major physical collapse. I know a lot of people like to work outside the home because they like the socializing, but personally I found that one of the most exhausting things about working, especially if there are " office politics " going on. I love to socialize, but have to be able to do it on my own schedule, when I'm feeling well. The time and energy you spend to get dressed up and out the door add to the strain too. Take care, and good luck with it! If there is any way I can help you, let me know, as you've always been there for me. Liz G.
Guest guest
Bev - I can't vouch for actually DOING any online work, but, I should be starting my training soon to do web design. It's taken me two yrs, but here in Massachusetts, the state agency that trains disabled people for employment is Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission. They are horribly inefficient and political, and in order to get everything I am entitled to, I've had to make zillions of phone calls, and fight the entire way. But I got my computer, desk, (very comfortable) chair- had the dr write a prescription for it - and HOPEFULLY soon, DSL service. Then,of course, they are paying for the on line training. I chose an entirely online school, www. sessions. com, because I like the fact that it's more on the artsy design side, and the courses are taught by people who support themselves by doing this sort of online work. Plus, it's not the kind of class where you have to be at the computer at a certain time of day - I need to work around the pain. There are LOTS of free tutorials on the web. Just do a search for " free [whatever] course " and you'll sure to come up with some really good tutorials. Actually, I've been fighting for everything I need for so long, that I've almost forgotten my goal! Lyn =================== >Does anyone do one-line work?
