Guest guest
I had surgery October 15 in Galesburg with Dr. Stachniw. He was absolutely wonderful and now fully understands our plight as he had bilateral in MId November. He is back at work and is doing surgeries already. Unbelievable! I would not hesitate in recommending him. There are several others on this list that have also had the benefit of having him perform their surgery. I hope to be able to wait another year before I have the other one done....but as Barb mentioned..my left is now giving me a lot of trouble. I hope that as my right leg gets stronger that I will put less stress on the left and it can take a rest. I can not even imagine having done both at the same time. Although, now that I am two months post op...I wish I had cuz it would have been all over with and I would have been on the mend for the last time. Getting through those first few weeks with both being done would have been horrible for me. Dr, Stachniw told me that he now knows why he would not do bilaterals on anyone and he is even more sure about it now than before. He will not do it. I guess he knows first hand.
