Guest guest
Actually .......... there weren't any until just a few days before the brain scan. He seemed withdrawn, wasn't talking alot (as he usually does) and was extremely tired. Now ..... how many of us on this site aren't familiar with being " extremely tired " ? So that one is really hard to detect! He noticed one day that he had trouble doing a little seminar on HIPPA ....... couldn't organize his thoughts and get them out in words. A few days later, after a 4 hour nap, there was a definite problem with him being almost nonverbal, his eyes were extremely glazed over, and he had trouble with his right leg (because his tumor was on the left side of the brain). But that was it ........ no other signs any earlier ......and the tumor was 1 " when found! However, it seems that only 6% of colon cancer patients develop brain metastases, so it's not that common. If you haven't already read post # 7783,(about the relationship of CEA, Chemo, Tumors)..... you should. wrote it and it really sums up why there are such variations in CEA levels within each person and one to another. Best wishes to you .......... and give your husband a big hug for me ......... today is a new day, and things CAN get better!! Donna > > > > Just wanted to thank you all for your encouraging posts.
