Guest guest
Hi there, I've been reading your posts and wanted to say good luck with everything. Before we found out about the Ponseti method my daughter's doctor wanted to do surgery. We found this site before we went through with it. Changed doctors and are very happy, as is my daughter (born 3/02). I am sure you are going to be very happy with the Ponseti way. Guest guest
hi, you didnt say your name... i am only 10 months out and unfortunately due to not getting help for compulsive overeating/bulemic tendancies before surgery and am really struggling now as i can gain 3-4 lbs a week(usually during the work week when i am at stress overload) and then lose it over the weekend, i am going to enter therapy for that before i totally stretch out my pouch which is more stretched then it should be,and as i know i have enlarged my stoma enough where i am hungry all the time. they say if you are at goal weight that most doctors want women to gain 25-35 lbs during pregnancy,if you are at ideal weight for your height, i am at my goal weight (which i am at within a few pounds) because i have a lot of subcantenaous fat stores that just wont go anywhere(so my goal weight is higher then my ideal weight) , so my doctor said 15-25. anyways get help if you need to, i am going to start counseling and also when i have the time start my own ossg yahoo group for post ops with recurrent food issues. anyways welcome to tthis board, congratulations on your pregnancy, and just letting you know you arent alone.. lisa, post op lap rny 12-5-1 dr ikramuddin/univ of mn wt day of surgery 233, wt 9-30-2 150 ht 5'3 1/2 edc 3-18-
Guest guest
Hi, I just found out yesterday that my grandfather has colon cancer. My family (who is mostly dysfunctional) is supposed to be meeting with the doctor next Tuesday to find out details and options. I am in desperate need of some basic info (already checked out the main websites of cancer programs) from people who have been in this situation. I know too many times doctors speak in tongues (hehe) and things are overlooked or families are uninformed or misinformed. I would love any help on what to be on the lookout for, what question to ask, what treatment options there are that the doctor might not be familiar with, etc, etc. Basically I know that my family is probably going to nod their heads and go along with whatever the doctor says, but I want to know as much as I can and be informed so we can make good decisions for my grandfather (he is 78 and has early stages of Alzheimers so he can be allowed to make these types of decisions himself). Thanks to anyone who can give me some assistance.
Guest guest
Stepanie: Many things depend on the stage of his cancer, and his general health Dabetes, etc. There are many options, has it metasticized, does it involve any other organs. Can he still take present meds. Will he have a team,PCP, SURGEON,ONCOLOGIST & possibly RAIOLOGIST. They work together and figure out the best plan. It may or may not involve radiology. There is a standard call the Saltz regimen, there are 9 other drugs used in combo and several new ones in trials. Is your grandads onc. part of a major center,do you reside in a city with a lot of choices? You seem together, intelligent and concerned and that bodes well for you Grandad. How his early Als disease will affect him I do not know. Why not visit a center and ask. There are posts here that explain this in detail. best of luck, you might be the best medicine for him Hugs and prayeres Nick & Jane

Guest guest
Jeanie: Check out this link and scroll down to cinnamin and blood sugar. http://www.uk-muscle.co.uk/nutrition-diet-articles/8297-cinnamon.html Bob Olin Bob's Water & Septic LLC jolin@... New I just got back on here, by the way, after a long vacation from even thinking about this stuff, but am now prediabetic (autoimmune thyroid already so progressing apparently and just aging with my mercury toxicity) so it got me thinking about using ALA to detox/chelate which would also help blood sugar. Anyway, just wanted to say that its so motivating to read these posts again. I know these things, but don't always apply them. I am going to order the supplements for the Fat Flush Plan which I tried for a while and then lost the discipline but its a gentle way of detoxing the liver, kidneys and balancing hormones. (Insulin resistance at least). Anyway - once I get a grip a little on that diet will then try chelating again. RIght now I'm a high school sub and not working for the summer, but tend to not be able to handle more than a couple of nights chelating and won't be able to, for sure, when working again. Someone a while back use to only chelate 3 days and 2 nights. Any advise on that?? Recommended? Jeanie
