Guest guest
Michele, I am a lifelong (almost) vegetarian. I've been on the AP for a year now and have never done anything different with my diet other than trying to remember to drink more water and adding a couple of supplements (acidophilus and milk thistle). I eat plenty of rice and bread and pasta with no ill effects. Of course I try to balance this with a variety of fruits and vegetables. Dairy - no problem. I have never noticed a correlation between specific foods and what my RA is doing. I think we are all different, but all I have had to do is remember to take my meds on schedule and I've done remarkably well. If you are vegetarian you probably already have heightened awareness of health and nutritional issues. If I were you, I would just trust my own instincts about what is right for you to eat. If you are having a noticable problem with carbs or a specific food, that's different. But I wouldn't try to follow a rigid and limited diet for no reason other than that someone else (who's not living in YOUR body)believes it's beneficial. There are too many variables involved.
