Guest guest
, I'm also UD, but not pregnant...yet! (My husband is watching me type this and he says I should say " Hee, Hee, Hee...not pregnant yet, but maybe tonight! ) Anyway, there are many women on this board who are UD and have had successful pregnancies. I'm sure they will write and tell you their stories. This board has been such an encouragement to me. I know it will be for you too! Welcome! Merry Christmas! 30, ttc UD

Guest guest
Hi ! Boy do I have information for you, ha! I too am UD although I do not have 2 cervixes, only one. It's very rare, but that's just how I am. Anyway, I became pg for the first time last year and at my 18 week sonogram we noticed what was thought to be a bicornuate uterus. Well, at 19 weeks, I ended up losing that baby due to an incopentent cervix which can be related to UD, but not always. That needs to be something you are monitored for starting at about 14-15 weeks. Anyway, in March of this year, my dr. ordered a HSG (where they put dye into your uterus and take x-rays so that you can see how the uterus is shaped.) It was then that I discovered I was UD. After reading about it, I have found that most people with UD have a very high outcome of carrying full term although it is likely that the baby may be breech or transverse causing you to have a c-section, but if that is the worst of it, big deal! You are also at risk of preterm labor with uterine anomalies as well. Currently, I am 26 weeks pregnant with twin girls...one in each uterus! Ha! Talk about a shock! At about 9 weeks, I started having little bleeding episodes, sometimes so heavy that I thought I was miscarrying. At 11 weeks, I had a horrible bout of bleeding and went to the ER. It was there after a sonogram that we discovered we were having twins. I went on to bleed a few more times after that, but haven't again since 13 weeks. At 15 weeks, I had a cervical cerclage (a stitch to hold the cervix closed) because of my weak cervix. At 18 weeks, it was discovered by sonogram that my cervix was starting to funnel and give out on me again like it did with my first baby, but luckily the stitch has held and I am still pregnant! However, I have been in the hospital ever since that day because my dr. was not sure if my cerclage was going to hold or not. That means I've been here in the hospital for 8 weeks 2 days on strict bedrest...I can't even get up to go to the bathroom or shower! Anyway, the cervical thing is just something you may want to be aware of. Just because you have UD doesn't mean you have a weak cervix too. I'm just really luckily to have 2 things wrong with me, that's all. Ha! Anyway, your dr. sounds like he is right on top of things and monitoring you well. Congrats on the baby!
