Nope. That's what we all look forward to and what many of us hear. You may

wish to wake up with functioning parathyroids too.

After your RAI treatment when they do your post scan.

Well, most of it's what happened to me :-). They won't actually get

all the thyroid tissue - they can't because it's all wound up with

other things like parathyroids, vocal cords, etc, but the RAI will

take care of what's left. I woke up fine, with just a sore throat,

and my voice was pretty much normal.

After the RAI/scan. Frustrating to have to wait. Anticipate the

best, though!

That's ok - you can deal with all that after you've gotten through the

surgery. I think it's important to just realize that these things

will follow after surgery, so it doesn't come as a big shock.

That's a good wish - and lots of us do. I'm one of them. Hopefully

you will be, too!!
