Broc doesn't wear it very often, mostly just outside when he has a chance of falling on cement. It's ugly and I hate it, but it works and protects my son Jake. He is 8 years old and will tolerate it. It's a hard shell helmet with a face bar. I think the cost was somewhere around $200. My son has been on the diet for almost 7 years. He is not currently seizure free but it is the only treatment that has really helped him. He has the VNS also, and has failed multiple meds. I'm sure if you call Hopkins they can point you in the right direction, or there are other listmates in Australia with you who can be of valuable help, I'm sure. Guest guest Posted February 13, 2004 Report Share Posted February 13, 2004 Mike used to wear a martial arts helmet. It is thick foam with a velcro closure at the neck.
