Guest guest
This has been going around the Internet for a few years. If I had ten seconds, I would be reaching for a phone to dial 91 . . . .. , not coughing. Gagging maybe. Not coughing. This post falls almost within the realm of urban legend. See: http://www.snopes.com/toxins/coughcpr.htm for details. You will find links to the Red Cross and American Heart Association positions on " Cough CPR " , and in both cases, they do not endorse it. Remember, we are not a medical site. We should not give medical advice. This is an example of an email that has been traveling the Internet for 5 years, and gives potentially bad advice. Don't get me wrong - If I was having what I though was a heart attack, and I had someone near me dialing 911, I would be coughing like heck! Bobby Asst. Guest guest
I read thru the site Bobby pointed to about coughing and heart attacks. For those who haven't, the advice boils down to: call 911 and take an aspirin, preferably chewing the aspirin so it gets into the blood stream sooner.
