Guest guest
Christian- This may top all of the crazy CHARGE things I've heard of!! As I think about anatomy, if the ear drums are perforated or have PE tubes, can food travel thru the Eustachian tubes into the ear canal?? I'm not sure. I know all of those parts are connected, but the path the food would have to travel is something I'm not sure about. You've got my curiosity up tho! Can't wait to hear from someone who knows. I sure hope it's not an indication of a big problem. Michele W mom to Aubrie 8 yrs CHARGE, 14 yrs and wife to DJ

Guest guest
Christian, I would recommend an ENT (ear, nose and throat specialist) consultation as well. She may have some abnormality in her eustachian tubes (the tubes that drain from the middle ear into the throat), resulting in backflow of food into her ears. Guest guest
Also are you sure it's chocolate pudding? Sometimes drainage in some children is dark brown.
Guest guest
Positive. Whatever she eats... out it comes the same exact color. The reason we've missed what was happening was that she mostly eats food that are yellowish in color, which looks a lot like drainage. > > Also are you sure it's chocolate pudding? Guest guest
already scheduled. We've also consulted a second and third (very good specialist, but he's four hours away, so we don't see him often). Guest guest
Just curious if your daughter still has her adenoids and tonsils? Somethings getting those things out helps with proper drainage/flow for the ears. I think that that large tonsils and adenoids are common in CHARGE. , mom to Zach 4.5 years and Carmen 20 months (CHARGE) > > > > Christian, > > > > I would recommend an ENT (ear, nose and throat specialist) consultation as > > well. Guest guest
Adenoids came out with her second set of tubes. Guest guest
Adenoids can and do often grow back--so I'm sure your ENT will check that out. If they grew back for her, she most likely will need them out again and then her tonsils coming out may help too. Good luck! > > > > > > > > Christian, > > > > > > > > I would recommend an ENT (ear, nose and throat specialist) > > consultation as > > > > well.
