Actions, Speak Louder Than Words

I am composing this letter to address something that has been VERY

concerning to me.

Its been brought to my attention that someone very near and DEAR to

me...has been accused of being a racist...and you know what?? I

didn't even ASK to be sent this " Joke Of The Day " !

I have to admit I think this accusation is rather hilarious!

nne has invited me to join your beloved group a NUMBER of times,

but you want to know what the catcher is here??

It wasn't even SHE who alerted me about this accusation but someone

else from your group whom I know from my days back in Cancer

Chat.....who ALSO thinks the world of nne!

After learning the details of this situation (with posted quotes to

prove this), the ONE PHRASE that comes to mind for the person who

MADE this accusation towards her is...GET A GRIP!!

As my " husband of color " and I (I am caucasian.....last time I

looked...does it matter????) watched the sad developments in the

Gulf...even HE said over and over...by OBSERVATION ONLY...that the

vast majority of the looters.....the snipers....were OF COLOR!

Does making this observation....make ME racist?? MUST I file for

seperation from my husband....because of an observation I made from

watching the numerous cable news channels??

Speaking of which....in the small town that nne lives in, she

probably has 3 local news channels, which were her only options for

seeing the crime happening in New Orleans and surrounding

areas....but on my 130 PLUS news channels on sattelite....GET

THIS!!?? Sammme thing!

Of ALL the areas shown, and NOT just in New Orleans...the MAJORITY of

the criminals WERE people of COLOR!

I don't HATE these people! I expect they were doing what THEY felt

they had to, to survive...but I don't CONDONE it!

After all...who am I to judge??

Who is ANYONE to judge???

Again, and I STRESS this.....just like nne....we were JUST

making an observation!!

Do you think when I made my donation to the Hurricane Relief, that in

the MEMO section I wrote.... " To everyone except people of color " ??

And...speaking of donations.....I DON'T have to do this but I am

going to attempt to post a photo of myself and a friend's daughter.

What you'll OBSERVE in this photo is myself, and a very unfortunate

young girl OF COLOR, opening a gift at Christmastime.

This gift, happens to be a glass ornament with angel glitter and a

feather inside....a gift that this young lady called her " Wish " .

Now....with thinking caps on...can ANYONE GUESS who sent this young

lady this glass ornament??

Do you all know anyyyyone in your groups who perhaps...MAKES these

glass ornaments????

When this sweet child saw one of the ornaments that I ordered..she

went into FITS over it.

When I told nne about how she reacted...nne IMMEDIATELY got

on the ball to make sure that this young lady's " Wish...came true " !!

OMG...Did nne send a gift to a total stranger ....JUST to make

her smile...to make her Christmas..to warm her heart??

A young girl of COLOR..I might add????

I'll say this before I close, then I prefer to leave it alone.

Just because of someone ELSES actions....and perhaps a caucasian

person observing those actions and making a statement regarding

them.....if you are NOT guilty of being of the like, then in my eyes

you have NO REASON to be defensive!!

My husband and I will be married 16 years this coming January...and

before my Mother passed away with Large Cell Lymphoma...she told me

that my husband is the BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME.

I guess I don't have to tell you that my Mother was caucasian as well.

I was very blessed having been raised in a home where my parents

RAINBOW OF FRIENDS were ALWAYS welcome in our home.

Perhaps this is why I take to nne so easily..she, like EVERYONE

WHOM I CHOOSE TO KEEP COMPANY WITH....

has never displayed to me an OUNCE of being judgmental of someone

because of the color of their skin.

My love and prayers to all of you who mean SO VERY MUCH to nne.

Unbeknowst to you guys...you guys are her life.

I live in a small town myself so I KNOW that without the computer and

MY groups and interest....theres not alot out there to do, and

nne has told me this too....we feel INCOMPLETE without being

able to touch base on a DAILY BASIS with those of you who mean sooo

very much to us.

At least in nne's case she has been able to be sooo busy day and

night...crochetting her fingers to the BONE.....making afghans to

COMFORT these most unfortunate people devastating by the Hurricane.

The moral of this story is....THE ONLY Label she puts on these

afghans...as with PEOPLE..is " From nne with LOVE " .

open my heart to you
