Guest guest
Flo, I don't know how this conversation started, I have over 700 e-mails now. I have already gone through 200, yea! Anyway, our girls used to have Daddy dates. That meant they had one on one time with . That left me with the other child and I could enjoy each individually. Of course we would have to vary the activities or Patty would get bored and there was no incentive for her to participate in whatever they were doing. I can't remember but I think we did this not because wasn't having alone time with them. It was for me to have a break and for him to show both girls that he too was " the boss " and not just someone who would be irritated with misbehavior at the end of the day. I think it also showed them we were a team. I do have to say that often Patty would choose to do chores with . She just loved helping him with the wheelbarrow, handing him things like a hammer, paintbrush, and she even enjoyed going to the dump on the weekend. Another favorite for the two of them was watching their favorite TV show together- Brisko County Junior. Kris would just about die doing those things so she chose other activities that liked to do too, such as playing board games or tossing the ball around. It was really important for Patty that there were things they did in their routines and there were things they did for fun totally out of routine. I also have to add that I had to remind that if they made a mess together then they had to clean it up together and not leave it for me.
