Hello!!! I just have a questions, being a first timer, I have no idea what to expect here....Off and on since Friday, I have felt this "feeling" in my belly, I am not sure how to describe it, like little "pangs" maybe(?) They alone last a second but could that possibly be the baby? What have others felt? Is it really noticeable at first? Sometimes I think I am imagining it but it keeps happning, a couple of times on my left side but usually on my rt side. I was so stressed about the amino decision when I saw dr on Monday, I didn't think to ask her. Thanks. Take care. 18wks! Get more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer download : http://explorer.msn.com

I had the same thing were I thought I felt something but wasn't

really sure. I don;t see why it can't be the baby. I bet you are

going to start feeling something more definate real soon.

Being a first timer myself I cannot tell you if that's the baby or not, but

I really started thinking about the things I've been feeling and there's

like 4 different types of things I feel every now and then, but I have no

clue if any of them are the baby...so I thought I'd tag on to your question

and see what you and the others think. 1) sharp pains but don't feel like

they're just in 1 area - (I think this is the ligament stretching thing I've

read about), 2) a feeling like someone is pinching me from the inside, but

no matter how I move they won't let go (but thankfully usually only lasts a

for moment), 3) something that feels like a muscle spasm (like a nervous

tick or something) in one very specific area at a a time, and 4) just a

feeling like something is poking me from inside, not painful but just a sort

of pressure from inside at one specific area at a time. That's it!

& AmyR,

I’ve felt

something similar as well. Like there’s something in there. I’ve only felt in a

few times. I guess the baby is starting to weigh more and take up more room.

Today I

went to a dollar store behind my office to buy some buttons and ended up buying

7 summer baby outfits. They were only $3 apiece and they were absolutely

adorable. They were really nice

too, not dollar store quality. I

figured I could return them or give them as shower presents if I can’t use

them. It’s so hard to hold off and not buy anything yet. I have my u/s on 8/16

and since it’s in the late afternoon, dh should be able to come with me. That

is such a praise as it is the week my ep baby would have come into the world.

It was hard for me to tell at first too. I started noticing little

muscle spasms in the same area of my belly. I get the same sensations

in my legs too. :) Plus, I was feeling what seemed to be gas, but I

knew it was in the area where my uterus was. At 18w5d, finally the

baby did a head but. It was stronger than anything I had experienced

before, so I knew it was the baby. Then I realized, I must have been

feeling it all along. They say if you suspect it's the baby, it

probably is!

That sure does sound like some movement to me. I

think I ws about 18 weeks before I felt some fluttering

around in there. i guess it just varies with each

person. I also remember asking my dr about the ligaments

stretching and she said that it could very well be

streching. I am sure it will be not long at all before

your little one is moving alot! especially at night when

you are trying to sleep!! Good Luck on you drs appt

tomorrow I will be looking for your update. Take Care &

Hugs, Dana R.

Definitely sounds like movement to me sweetie. I should be an expert after four, isn't it the best feeling in the world?

I'll bet it 's the baby!!! That's how it started for me, and as it got stronger, then I realized what I had been feeling. How exciting, I knew it would be happening for you soon.

Janice,

So far I have yet to buy any baby clothes, but my mother on the other

hand...she LOVES to go to all the garage sales in the summer (she doesn't

work so this is her little hobby). So far she has bought us a Harley

son bike (hello! I'm going to have to store that for 2yrs before I can

use it!), an activity gym, and like 3 bags of clothes...they are all in

really good shape so I guess she did good there :) I think maybe I'll just

sit back and not buy anything and see what she comes up with...just kidding,

but the thought did cross my mind ;)

I'm glad dh should be able to go to the u/s with you. I just scheduled mine

at 8am so dp could come with me...it's a lot easier for him to go in just a

little late then try to get out early, so that should work! I can hardly

wait and I'm sure you feel the same way!!

I don't know what it could be. I can't even remember what those first

kicks really felt like..now I get punches and jabs! Maybe things are

just croweded in there, sometimes you'll wake up and feel bigger and

have a less " cramped " feeling.
