Guest guest Posted December 28, 2002 Report Share Posted December 28, 2002 I had my tt and neck dissection back in 5/02. I have a nasty scar that my surgeon has been trying to treat ever since. My most recent experience was with cortisone injections. He gave me 15 along the scar line and then scheduled a return visit for 6 weeks later. The injections made my scar a bit flatter in some areas but it also made these red blood vessels show up as a side effect. It's still very red, raised and you can see all of the stitching marks. The next stop on the treatment train is to see a laser surgeon. This is scheduled for 1/23. My surgeon feels he can repair it with another surgery but if it comes down to that then I will just keep the scar.
