Guest guest
That's so cool! Congratulations to the buys! I am wondering what sort of accommodations are used to help them--do they use FM for classes? Matt hasn't tried karate again since he was very young before he was aided. He is having some body image/self esteem/fitness issues right now and I wonder if it might be something to try again. (he does, however, still struggle with left and right as part of his learning disability, and that might be a problem). Thanks for your answer about speech/PIC/etc. Our meeting yesterday went so well that I think I will not ask for more at this time. LuAnn I wanted to share I'm so proud of Tommy (11 with a severe hearing loss) and Sam (9 with a profound loss). Last night was Taekwondo belt testing - Taekwondo is a martial art. They've both been involved in it for several years. Tom is now a red stripe - so 3 belts from black; Sam is a blue stripe. Both boys did great - very confident and self-possessed. They are the only two in their dojang with hearing loss - the dojang has been incredibly supportive. We feel good today! Guest guest
Congratulations to them, and to you. Our daughter, who is 12, just got her black belt about one year ago. It is awesome, isn't it!! Tish On 23 Jan 2004 09:28:36 EST Barbara.T.Mellert@... wrote: >I'm so proud of Tommy (11 with a severe hearing loss) and >Sam (9 with a >profound loss).
