Guest guest
Just after 1 1/2 weeks on the diet though? Isn't that a little early to see that? Jen > > Okay, I am so anxious. Guest guest
Okay, I will calm down. It's just the depakote thing w/children under 2, supposively they can have completely liver failure w/out any notice. So I'm very cautious about the bruising. The doctors office just called and blew me off, b/c they were on his legs. But he went to bed last night w/ no bruises and woke up this morning w/ 15-20 on his legs. I will be watching closely. Just one more thing, right? > >> > >>>Okay, I am so anxious. I noticed this morning that 's shins > >> > > had > > > >>>some bruises and they are worse this evening. Guest guest
Don't panic. Let the doc look him over. They can typically tell if a bruise is from normal wear and tear, or from some type of clotting problem. On the diet, some kids have " extra " bruising. I'm not so sure if it is vitamin/mineral deficiency related but it does happen for some kids. If you are worried over the weekend, get some spinach in him this weekend (rich in Vit K). Oh, and he could have acquired the bruises before he went to bed, but they didn't " show " up until later on (morning). (Please don't thinking I'm down playing your concerns, just trying to help). Guest guest
Well 15=20 overnight is a lot.....yeah, I would be doing something about that too! txmomwithkids wrote: > Okay, I will calm down. Guest guest
Jen, I don't know anything about Depakote. I do know that the diet can dramatically change how the meds are working, so anything is possible. Hopefully you can get rid of it sooner than later.
