Question for Ian

Ian,

I think I may have already sent this to you direct, so if it's a

repeat, please forgive me. My friend received a scan dose (4 or 5

mCi) of I131. She was playing with my 9 1/2 month old daughter at a

holiday dinner party before I realized she'd been dosed a week

prior. Is there reason for concern? She wasn't near her all that

long but was eating and playing... you know, the whole saliva thing.

I know this might sound neurotic but I'm a bit concerned. Also, any

adivice would be helpful as I go through a scan as well in about two

months. Thanks so much Ian. I'm a new member here and what advise

I've received over the past few days has been most helpful.

LOL! I'm the " friend " and I promise I didn't drool! The party was on the 25th

and I received the diagnostic dose on the 18th (4 mci), so by the 21st, I should

have been safe by all accounts! Hi Sharyn!

Hey Deb,

Actually, I did freak momentarily but my bigger concern was a girlfriend who

was playing with her. Didn't I mention my other friend who'd had her scan a

week before hanging with Nikki. I thought I'd mentioned it on an email. A

weird coincidence but her interaction was more extensive than yours by far so

I figured if my questions was answered it would cover you both. I didn't

realize about her scan until after the fact.

Happy New Year!
