Our phone line went out Thursday morning.. the guy came out today, Friday, to fix it..... Long story short, we were some how crossed with the fax line of our neighbor and he was able to find that and fix it in less than 10 minutes.. but he heard a buzz in the line that he didn't like... came in the house to do some checking.. .came into my office to check the line in here and saw my puters.... I think he appreciates computers! He ran a NEW line from house to pole, but in a new junction box on the outside of the house, and one in the basement... and then still didn't have a clean enough signal so switched our hook up through a different terminal, a new one, a block down the road... the result of his three plus hours of effort? Well, he asked me if I could connect with one of the puters and see if the cleaner signal would improve connection rate... he came it to see.... well... I was bouncing up and down in my chair I was so excited.. .and he just giggled at me!!!! Our connection rate is running about 55% faster than it was before.... The bad part.... I'm more than 40 hours behind on emails... which for me is a BUNCH.. I'll be working on catching up as quickly as I can.. but we've got roofers coming out tomorrow and I'll have to shut down the puter once they start up the hammers, just to make sure that I don't end up with concussion damage to the hard drives... so I don't know if I'll be able to get caught up until Monday.
