Guest guest
Hi! I had my surgery on a Friday and was not ready to go to work until Tuesday. Even then I was not up to par for about a week after surgery. For me, it is because of the anesthesia. I get really sick from it. Hope this helps! Guest guest
, I had my lap/hyst & SU resection done on a Friday & I went back to work on Tues. I was still pretty sore for almost a week, but I mostly was sitting down & could take it easy & the pain meds took care of the majority of my discomfort. (I also had a small amount of endometriosis lasered off my ovaries, and from what I've heard from ladies on this board, those who had endo lasered off experienced more pain post surgery). But each woman's experience is different - I think it depends on how large your septum is, whether any endo is removed, how you respond to anesthesia, whether you have both the lap & the hyst, what kind of shape you are in prior to surgery, etc. Some women bounced back to normal in 2 or 3 days; others it took a week or more. I would suggest at least 4 days off - if you have your surgery on a Tues or Wed, then you'd have a little extra time with the weekend to make sure you're feeling better. Guest guest
Jess- I am eager to hear how your app't goes.....I am putting off my surgery till next month, b/c it was feeling too pressured- I also need an HSG, have a trip later this month, etc. This is a lot to deal with, but good to get on with it as you said. Good luck--thinking of you. Guest guest
Hi! I had my lap/hyst on a Thursday, slept all that day, took it easy on Friday, and was back to work on Monday with no problems. It was nice to have the weekend, but I probably could have gone back to work on Saturday if I'd had to (was working out in the garden already by then). I have heard that studies don't support MA's running in familiies, but I have at least two aunts and one cousin on my mother's side with MA's (I think two are didelphys and one is bicornuate). Plus me. Sure seems like there's a family connection there somewhere. Hope this helps. -Ami. > HI > just a couple of quest..I was thinking about today...for everyone > who has had an su resection, how long did you have to take off of > work after?? Guest guest
I had my hysteroscopy/laparoscopy yesterday and had a large septum removed as well as some stage II endometriosis removed. My doctor put a catheter in my uterus to keep it from contracting and having scar tissue " heal " back together. I have this catheter in place until Monday. My RE estimated I'd be off of work 7-10 days, depending on what he did. Since he did a septum re-section it will probably be 10 days. I am really sore and the catheter is just generally messy and uncomfortable, so I can't imagine going back with it in place. I guess we'll see how I feel after it comes out. Luckily I have a very generous sick time policy as I work for a Canadian company. So I can take up to 10 sick days in a row off paid.
