Hi ,

welcome to the list. Our daughter Kennedy, who is eight, has been down the

choanal atresia highway many times. She's had a bunch of surgeries for it and

still has chronic green runny nose at age eight. We use a nasal rinse:

http://www.neilmed.com/

2 times a day which kind of " blows everything out of there " and decreases the

ongoing nose-wiping, runny nose look. We feel like we own stock in Kleenex - we

always have a box wherever we go. It's just become a reality for us. She can

wipe her own nose and look after it so it's not too bad. The Nasal rinse has

helped a lot; sometimes her nose just runs clear but often it gets green & icky.

Thanks for replying . Do any of your doctors have an

explaination for this? We also have kleenex's everywhere. I do use

saline and then suction as much out as I can. Im concerned because I

think he doesnt eat enough, because his nose is always stuffed and

its hard for him to finish his bottles.

My baby also has had the surgery but has not experienced this issue.

Hmmm...have you talked with your ENT about it? He might have more insight than

your PCP.

I am so happy for you that your baby gets to have a bottle...how wonderful! I

know of very few CHARGErs that feed orally that early on

Sorry I can't be of much help...but again congrats on the feeding. I know

it's not perfect but wow, that is pretty great!

Thanks for replying. I will probably talk to his ENT about it. And yes I know

we are very fortunate that he has no eating problems, besides gaining weight.

Not every thing is perfect, but my son sure is!

Oh gee,

I used to joke about wishing I had stock in Kleenex too! (at age 3 months)

I'd be wealthy by now! ( being 20 yrs-and still using them up!)

Some things are around for the duration, I guess.(lol)
