Guest guest
Dawn, Don't feel bad. It is a chore. I am in so much pain by the time I am cooking dinner, I literally have tears in my eyes sometimes. Brody has been playing video games for about 3 hours today (please no letters-LOL) because I am too tired to chase him around. And, can't take him out because it is 102 again today. I was outside for 10 minutes earlier to see if I could see the balloons at the school and I couldn't-bummer. Anyway, by the time I went in, I was ready to fall asleep from the effect the heat had on me. Last night, Kylie ate at the house she babysat at and Brody and I had nachos. I reheated leftovers for when he got home. Easy! I had a friend one time that said her ex-husband was bad dad because he only fed his kids top ramen for dinner one night! HUH??? What is wrong with that??? As long as they get nutrients from other sources. My kids eat fruit and vegetables all day long. Brody loves green peppers, tomatos, cukes, celery and carrots. So that one night that we all decided to skip dinner and make popcorn and watch a movie instead I don't think was a bad parenting choice. We weren't hungry for a big meal! We tell everyone 'we had popcorn for dinner one night! LOL'. I believe in making it easy too. Another friend won't let her son have noodles for breakfast because it isn't a breakfast food. Who cares. He was willing to eat them. We have had pizza, top ramen, nachos, steak, leftovers, whatever!! Make it easy. Oh, also when I make casseroles I make double sometimes and freeze the rest so I have a meal ready to go. I am babbly today. My head hurts really bad. Guest guest
I am with Marlee. Nothin' better that a big juicy pot roast and potatos and carrots......mmmmm. Drizzled in butter-real butter-not that margarine junk-won't even buy it for my house. Guess that is the Wisconsin girl in me. I never tasted margerine til I was out of the house. My dad wouldn't eat it either!! Still don't care for it. Nothing compares to the taste of real butter. Zanna

Guest guest
Thanks, Lelia. I agree about the job/family issue. And furthermore, tending to my family now is an absolute CHORE. I don't mean that to sound awful (although it really does), but when every muscle in your body hurts CONTINUOUSLY (and I don't make that up), it's a chore to take care of everyone. I should have said that too to that woman from CPP! Maybe I should start writing these things down. LOL. Guest guest
I agree with everything you said. I most always get big meals (meat, potatoes, veggies), but there are night's that I just don't have it in me and we'll have grilled cheese or rice or pizza pockets, etc. My kids get a wide variety of foods and nutrients, so it doesn't bother me in the least. Marlee kinda makes me feel guilty on the nights that I do that, as she'll look at me and whine " I wanted a BIG supper, mommy " . LOL She just adores the meat & potatoes meals. That's so funny for a kid. Hey, I like your popcorn for supper idea. Maybe I'll try that some night. We have a hot air popper and about 6 different popcorn seasonings(barbecue chicken is the BEST) and my family would LOVE it. Dawn mrsxanadu@... wrote: > Dawn, > Don't feel bad. It is a chore. Guest guest
My Aunt and Uncle are just like you. However, we buy margerine. Hubby doesn't put butter or margerine on ANYTHING. Eats dry potatoes, bread, popcorn, corn on the cob, you name it. BLECK!! Dawn PS....I'm starting to get quite freaked out here. This is the 2nd night in a row that my right foot has been double or triple it's normal size. It's the foot where I had the DVT in the leg. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I've even taken 3 pictures of it, because I'm amazed. Can barely wiggle my toes. I'm heading to bed and getting that foot up. Dawn mrsxanadu@... wrote: > I am with Marlee.
