Of course, my heart goes out to you. I can understand 's frustration.

It's got to be heartbreaking to watch your baby fight for his life -- and to

jump yet another hurdle at every turn. I hope your next post is good news

-- that they find the obstacle and take care of it.

Prayers to you all...

Yesterday JD was still having a rough time. He was moved to the ICU

around 5pm and they just wanted to make sure he was getting more O2 to

help him. Last night I called and he was doing pretty well. At 3:45 am

the nurse was taking a blood gas and noticed that his blood seemed a

little bit darker. His stomach was a little bigger and they were trying

to get air out. The lab called and said that the blood gasses were not

good and something needs to be done quick. The doctors on call were

around. Everyone was coming in and out of the room trying to figure out

what is going on. Suddenly his O2 was dropping then his Heart Rate was

dropping and they were losing him. They did CPR and they had to Shock

him. For about 15 minutes nothing was happening the nurse said that she

started to get scared and was doing everything they can for him. They

got him back and put in a new centeral line. and I were called at

4:30am and was told to get up there. and I got dressed and got

Olivia to her sitters. and I got into traffic. ONce we got to the

hospital the Chaplin, two doctors came to us and asked us to go and

talk. All I wanted to know is, " Is my son alive " We were both very

scared. They told us what happened. ENt is coming in to see if there is

a plug in his Trach,. There is some airway blockage and as of now they

are still trying to find out what is going on and what the plan is.

Right now ENT is going to look inside of him, there is also going to be

an Echo done. When I know more I will email later.

is really taking this hard and keeps asking what more does my son

have to go through. Keep us in your prayers, JD is a fighter.

I am so sorry to hear this. My husband and I can really relate to what you

are going through. We have seen Cedie plunge like that a few times (once we

were the ones who had to resuscitate) and it is so scary. You feel so

helpless. But the good news is, she always comes back stronger and so will

JD.

Also, back around Christmas time Cedie got real sick. It all started with a

trach change. They normally change her trach every two weeks. However, at

that time she was going on 5 weeks with the same trach b/c her size was on

back order. Well one night she was going into one of these " episodes " where

she stopped breathing, heart rate dropped, turned colors, etc. The nurse did

an emergency trach change using a different kind of trach. They found a huge

mucus plug in the trach. Well, the next day she had the same " episode "

happen again. The nurse had to actually cover her trach site and do mouth to

mouth. This time they found a bloody tissue stuck in her trach. We think

that in the hurry to get the trach changed the night before they must have

scraped the sides. From that point she just kind of spiraled down until she

was back in ICU (from the TCU) and on pain meds, sedation, and antibiotics.

HOWEVER, she did recover and has not had anymore big scares like that.

Hopefully, they will figure out what caused JD's struggle and do something

to correct it. Hang in there. We will be praying for you all.

My heart goes out to you. Hold on to that hope that he will pull through.

May that hope keep you safe and keep him fighting. If there is one constant

> Yesterday JD was still having a rough time. He was moved to the ICU around

> 5pm and they just wanted to make sure he was getting more O2 to help him.

> Last night I called and he was doing pretty well. At 3:45 am the nurse was

> taking a blood gas and noticed that his blood seemed a little bit darker.

> His stomach was a little bigger and they were trying to get air out. The

> lab called and said that the blood gasses were not good and something

> needs to be done quick. The doctors on call were around. Everyone was

> coming in and out of the room trying to figure out what is going on.

> Suddenly his O2 was dropping then his Heart Rate was dropping and they

> were losing him. They did CPR and they had to Shock him. For about 15

> minutes nothing was happening the nurse said that she started to get

> scared and was doing everything they can for him. They got him back and

> put in a new centeral line. and I were called at 4:30am and was told

> to get up there. and I got dressed and got Olivia to her sitters.

> and I got into traffic. ONce we got to the hospital the Chaplin, two

> doctors came to us and asked us to go and talk. All I wanted to know is,

> " Is my son alive " We were both very scared. They told us what happened.

> ENt is coming in to see if there is a plug in his Trach,. There is some

> airway blockage and as of now they are still trying to find out what is

> going on and what the plan is. Right now ENT is going to look inside of

> him, there is also going to be an Echo done. When I know more I will email
