Dawn,

This is wonderful news. I am so happy for you!! I wish you were coming to Ontario, CA. It is only about 20 miles from me. There is an airport there too. I would be glad to pick you up!!!

I think people should not hire customer service jobs (waitress, sales, cashier, etc...) on experience alone. I used to occasionally help with hiring at Home Depot and my theory is this: it is much easier to train someone to do a job than it is to train someone to be nice......so I stress-be nice-it matters....

I think it is Cedars Sinai that you are thinking about....I know there is a Mt. Sinai somewhere else though. I have lived so many places and traveled a lot of the US though so I could have just seen it somewhere!!

to go BIG TIME!!!

It's in Toronto, Ontario. Sounds like just what the Dr. ordered (at

least I hope she'll " order " it.) LOL.

Dawn,

I read your posts and was so upset that you were denied. I know how

desperate you must feel but you must know that you have to keep

fighting.

Congratulations on the specialists. This may just be what you need

to get approved as you now know that your current Rheumy will be no

help to you.

Hopefully until you get your appointment your husband will be able

to get a permanent job to take some of the pressure off. This is a

sure sign that things will start to look up for you. I am always

praying for you and your family.

Thankyou, Venita. Kirk has to call Radio Shack on Thurs. to see what the

owner has to say. He gave him a resume last week and was told to call him on

Thurs. They've just moved into a new location and it's twice the size of

their previous location, so they definately need the help. The only thing

against my hubby could be that he has no sales experience, but there are some

young kids employed there (fresh out of school) who I'm sure don't have

selling exp. either. Although it would be a cut in pay, it would be full

time with benefits, so I would be so happy. I'll keep you posted. Thanks

for your kind words. :o)

No, I missed that one. LOL. Isn't there a Mt. Sinai in California

where all the celebrities go or am I thinking of something else. I'm

trying to find a couple others in case I can't get in there, but can't

come up with anything. ARGH!! Maybe my Dr. will know.

Hi Dawn,

That is good news. Last night I was laying in bed thinking over your problem

and thought that I would suggest you contact MDA to see if they can be of

any help. It is good that Mike beat me to it. I hope you are successful and

finally get your disability. When I was dx i 93 I still worked until Feb 96.

I was on massive doses of Prednisone for the first year then was tapered

down to maintainence dosage. The PM didn't get any better but it became more

difficult for me to work as a painter in the hospital in Howell where I

worked for 24 yrs. I also had my rheumy fill out that i couldn't walk but

about a block before it became difficult, couldn't climb strairs as easily

as before and many other problems. I hope you and your husband have a safe

trip and come back with good news.
