Hello all ~

WOW!! I am amazed at how I stumbled onto this group! How encouraging

to read so many posts with such varied experiences and stories!

Ok, so a little of my own story and then a few ques(sorry if these

have been recently covered-tried read a lot of the posts, but am still

new to the acronyms, etc). I found out I had a septated uterus when my

midwives tried to turn my breech baby-I went into labor and was sent

to the hospital for a csec. After they opened me up Dr. tells me

-oh...I see the problem, you have a SU. First time I had ever heard the

words. Ok, so that was 9 years ago. Two years later I have another

baby-full term, breech again. Different Dr. another csec. DH and I

were only 23 at the time. I was not told nor did I think to ask if

there was a corrective surgery for this. The csec were very hard on my

body, and we decided not to have any more children. DH had a

vasectomy. URGHHH!!! Now at almost 30, DH graduates next year and we

want another baby!!!! So...let's say a vasectomy reversal is

successful, what are my options? How big of a deal is a corrective

surgery? Has anyone had vag birth after corrective surgery and 2

csecs? OR- Does anyone have a similar situation? Since I have not had

difficulty getting pregnant and carrying babies full term,(I give a

lot of credit to taking red raspberry leaf religously during both

pregs) should I even consider correcting this so that I can have a

more comfortable pregnancy and a natural birth? Is it a risk to my

fertility? I am dealing with some back woods small town Dr's-and still

angry and emotional about my children's births (LONG STORY) what was

NOT told to us,etc. concerning our options. Any advice would be

appreciated...and again how happy I am to know of so many of you

encouraging each other.

Blessings,

Hi, .

Welcome. I'm certain you will find tons of support and help here,

there are so many knowledgeable women around here, I'm always so

thankful for finding this group!

I don't have any answers for you about the ceserian or VBAC, I will

have to leave that to the other girls. But can you get copies of

your records from the two ceserians you've already had? The size and

flexibility of your septum really makes a difference when you're

trying to decide for or against surgery. The fact that you've been

able to carry two babies to term kind of indicates that your septum

may not be a huge problem for a future pregnancy. There are women on

this board who have not had their septums removed and have had

successful pregnancies. It may be more of a consideration, though,

if you are really horrified of the thought of another breach baby and

cessarian. Then the surgery (septum resection) might be more of an

option for you.

I would suggest you get copies of your records from the first two

births and take them to an experienced RE who can help you decide if

the surgery is an option.

If you do decide to go for the surgery, it's not nearly as bad as I

thought it was going to be. It is usually outpatient, and I was back

on my feet the next day, and back at work within 3 days. It's not

too tough, but come back and ask for more detail if you get that

far ... there are lots of girls here who have had it, and we can give

you some details.

On a side note, my husband had a successful vasectomy reversal a year

ago, 7 years after his vasectomy. We were pg within 3 months.

That's a little off-topic, though, so if you want more info about

that, e-mail me. I can give you some Dr. information if you want it -

- cost was an issue for us, so we did so much research on the Dr's we

found that our heads were spinning.

Good luck!

I'm glad you found this group -- it's been a hige sanity-saver for

me, I'm sure it will be just as useful for you!

-Ami.
