Thanks for responding. Zoe doesn't have the adjustable bar. She has the 10 "

red straight bar. When I asked the doctor about if it was wide enough, she

said yes without even measuring.

At her last checkup, the doctor said that she wasn't sure how long she would

be in the shoes, but said it could be when she's 18 months or two years. My

understanding is that the majority of Ponsetti kids wear the boots and bar

at nights and naptime until 3 years old unless they have loose joints. We

were planning on three years and did not ask the doctor how long she would

be in the shoes.

Now I'm wondering what I should do if the doc says she's out of the shoes at

18 months. I'm going to be so worried that it's too early. I guess I'll

cross that bridge when the time comes. I live in Northern Virginia, so

perhaps I could go to land and see Herzenberg for a second opinion?

Anyway, that's where we're at. We now go for checkups every 2 months. Does

this sound about right?

Joanne,

I would expect that you could go for check-ups every 6 months. Every

2 months seems a bit excessive to me, unless you're keeping a close

eye on Zoe's clubfoot for some reason.

We tend to be going back every 6-8 months. Our last stretch was 9

months.

About the bar- just continue to check the width of Zoe's shoulders

against the width between the heels of the shoes. If she starts to

act uncomfortable- or if the bar gets too narrow, then I'd request a

new length bar from your doctor.

Hope this helps,

Hi ,

We found the opposite with also, she is still very flexible. My

husband and I think she'd be great in gymnastics!

If you end up going to see Dr. P in Sept. maybe we'll get a chance to meet.

I think that's when we too will be having to head back. 's shoes are'nt

going to last as long as I had thought, her toes are at the edges now.

Holly and

Joanne,
