Hi Maddie

I am a UU'er with 2 tubes and 2 ovaries - are you exactly the same? If so, were

you concerned that you would fall pregnant in your rudimentary horn? I am very

worried about this.

UU update (preg ment)

Hey everyone-

An update from one of the UU's who disappeared from the board for a

while...

I found out after 3 years of infertility and miscarriages that I

have a right-sided UU, two ovaries. We finally got pregnant again

and held onto this one with the help of large doses of progesterone

(my own levels were close to zero).

I'm almost 36 weeks, and everything has gone smoothly. The anxiety

and stress during first trimester were unreal, second trimester was

better but still nerve-wracking, and now I've completely relaxed.

I had good care, was checked every week, and stayed on progesterone

up until last week.

I had a few scares with cervical shortening, and once it looked like

I was dilating, but I just restricted my activities more and things

went back to normal. My goal was to avoid bedrest if at all

possible.

We are having a little girl (obvious from week 14 on, with all those

scans!). She has been head-down for a while now, and is growing

along a boringly average curve (yay!). No idea if we'll be able to

deliver vaginally, but we will give it a shot, since all my

providers agree it should be fine.

It's amazing to look down at my fat belly with my daughter's feet

poking out my side, and remember back to the day I watched my HSG

and realized I might never be able to have a child. It was

horrendous. I'll never forget how bad the infertility struggle

was. But in case anyone is looking for hope, here it is! And if

you look back a year or so, there are lots of UU success stories.

Good luck to everyone!

Maddie

Hi Maddie,

Congratulations on 36 weeks! What a great story to share, I'm so

happy for you. There is so much to worry about, its wonderful to

hear the happy stories. Like you, I had almost 3 years of

infertility prior this pregnancy. I've only started to relax since

about week 28 - this is pretty normal for us " MA " ers I guess.

Good luck during your last few weeks.

Complete SU

40 (!! - amazing) weeks pregnant today (its a girl as well)

Maddie,

Congrats. I am so very happy for you, even to the extent

that tears came to my eyes when I read your post. With

all the negative information out there pretaining to a UU,

and with us ttc for the last 2 years, it gives me hope

that it can happen.

Best of luck!

Amazing, isn't it...I know that so many of us have been through that

exact same moment.

I'll be looking forward to reading that your little girl has

arrived! Any names, yet?

Just a note to encourage you, I'm a UU and was able to have a vag

delivery (at 36 weeks w/DS.) He was head down early on (which

really surprised my OB) and probably didn't have room to turn after

a while! So much for those statistics!!

Good luck!

UU, 29

Maddie,

First I want to say congrats on your pg and to have made it almost

to the end.

I'm also a right sided UU w/both ovaries, but no left rud. horn. My

dh and I are trying again after 4 m/c. This time I am on 400mg of

progesterone 2x a day and baby aspirin. I'm hoping it works this

time. I actually take a pg test on Sunday. I ususally don't have

any symptoms so I never really know until I take the test.

How many ultrasounds did you have in the beginning and when they

start doing them?

It sounds like you're doing great - thanks for the hope!!
