My goodness Lady, just what brand of coffee are U drinking? (kidding) I

believe your Ur running on committment and success.

Its been a terrific thing to watch. Your personal power is pulling the rest

of life into conformity to your direction. I don't think anyone can do any

better than that!

U know those 'normal' people with 'normal' lives? Your experience is so

much richer, your understanding of what makes life valuable is so much deeper,

your opportunities to learn are so much broader. Oh, I've had those 'twinges'

about that 'normal' life, of how others don't have a clue of whats asked of

us or our kids. We feel It worse when we're tired.

But, to those whom much is asked, much is given.

Keep healthy and strong!

Don't you love those light bulb moments....We really do not ask more than we

need and when we make a specific request we really have done an exhaustive

search..

Maybe when there is a next time it will not be as crazy...I know it never

happens that way but we only hope

Have a great weekend

You're so right! I am blessed to have so many wonderful opportunities and

such richness in my life. Only when I'm weary do I wish for " normalcy " . I

looked at my calendar and this weekend is the end of what I knew would be a

hectic month. I just have to be cautious about scheduling in the future.

Things all add up so quickly that it's hard to avoid!

We went to Town Hall to pick up a few copies and offered to autograph one

for the First selectman...Everyone knows in town I have gotten several

phone calls already....When we got back into the car said... " Hey Mom I'm

famous huh? " I was there for a dual purpose I am also creating a cookbook for a

fund raiser and I had asked them to all give a family favorite recipe...The

first selectman said " I don't cook " I said " AHH but you do eat...so please ask

your wife to share one with us " ..We are at about 180 recipes and our goal is 200

Michele,

This is great news. I'm happy to hear that what you are asking for has been

accepted even though there is nothing else out there.

I have an idea of how to reduce your stress, go away just you and your

husband. And when you do don't use your cell or a computer. Do it even if is

is a

night or two. There really is a need for respite. I thought I didn't need

that because others needed it more than me. Now I know I was totally wrong.

Every one needs time to get away from it all to reduce stress.

Have a great weekend and take it one step at a time.

You know, this thread about getting away without kids reminds me of the

summer when we had a Boston College grad student living with us. Our

beloved , now at the U. of Arizona, said that she'd come to

oversee the student ONLY if Andy and I agreed to leave for one night. I've

never known if she meant it!. was young and made us promise

to see Jurasic Park (we left), went to the hotel, drank wine, and absolutely

collapsed into the best sleep either of us had had in years. Mind you, we

really had to be seriously challenged/threatened to make ourselves go.

It's a very important thing to do. Martha (P.S.: my brother used to beg us

to do the same thing, but he just didn't understand the complexity of

having someone " sit " with a young CHARGEr. I guess the key is finding

someone really good --- nothing like a B.C. grad student and to

fill the bill!

The emotional energy leading up to these fights is huge. I am glad the

outcome was good, but I know how much heart and soul went into preparing for

it. Then the pressure of being ready to speak - lots for the weekend.

It is now Tues and I am just responding, so even the appt has come and gone.

I hope it left you with some relief and not simply a new pile of questions.

Roy, Dylan, and I went away for 4 days to our " dream land " . I worked until

4:30 in the am to have work finished enough to leave, then had an 8am event

for work the Monday we got back, so the price to leave is big, but it was so

worth it! It has taken 6 months to find a coinciding weekend that had time,

cash, and needs of other kids met, so we could go. Even though the flu the

rest of the family had last week, hit me on Saturday it was such a wonderful

revitalizing weekend. One so Roy and I could have time to talk and dream,

but it was also great Dylan time and Dylan pace. Building up to the trip I

would sign to Dylan " three-of-us go vacation " and he would give that knowing

laugh. It was incredibly awesome.

Hope you and DJ get some of that time soon.

Michele - You can think of me for March - I look at the calendar and I think

I might hyperventilate just with that. All the extra is not the problem, it

is how to get " work " done in the meantime. March is dog show month, plus

the start of track meets, plus Tyler's 18th birthday, plus the pediatric

neuropsychology conference I am going to, Intervener training and

graduation, plus all my regular work....... A good thing we had our 4 days

leading up to it. Kim

Kim-

Your weekend sounds wonderful! And, yes, my weekend went well too and the

doctor visit left me feeling very positive and relieved that we will have

answers to all of these huge questions. Of course, I'll be sharing it all

along the way. You would love this woman! I'd bet you could talk forever

about all of this fascinating neuro stuff!

Oi vay-- I totally hear you. With all the " stuff " going on, I've barely

been treading water with work. There are simply too many things to attend

to. I've been asked to do more inclusive childcare trainings -- which pay

well but take up Saturdays. Our childcare providers are required to have

the training by Nov or something. After years of opportunities, they are

all scrambling to get it at the last minute. Plus the HANDLE thing in

April, Aubrie's evals in April, CHARGE in MO in March, eegads... when am I

gonna get bead inventory done before taxes?? Weighing and counting beads??

Who has time for that now!!??

So... here's to you in March! And to all of us in keeping afloat...
