Personally, I think shorts are a BAD idea for people in the Emergency

Services field due to the above mentioned issues.

I tend to agree with Tater on this point but also know of several services

in the north east that allows shorts both fire and EMS separate and combination

services. In one city FD they allow shorts but require their members wear

bunker pants on medical calls. The idea being that you stay cooler prior to the

run hence you do better on the run, in another FD they actually issued wild

land (note this is an urban FD) pants for use on " shoe runs " to be worn over

the Nomex BDU type shorts.

The only shorts ever worn in any service I worked for was on our Boardwalk

Bike teams when they were in service.

Yes... We do.

We allow uniform shorts generally from mid-May through mid-October.

Just curious if there is any ambulance services that allow their crews

to wear shorts? I have my own opinion just wondered what the rest of

you thought, especially in southcentral Texas.

I said it before, and I'll say it again...

Let's all wear kilts!!! They are nice and breezy. Something or nothing can be

worn under them. A vast aray of Tartan plaids can be chosen from to match the

EMS service colors. Then we can all eat a great big haggis, drink a few yards

Guinness Stout, and brawl until we drop!!! Remeber if it's not ish it's

CRRRRRRAP!!
