Sue Ellen.

I Have a program called Nutrigenie and i plugged in your sons stats.

Your son has caloric need of 782, protein 16, Carbs 4 & Fat 78

My boy has caloric need of 975, protein 16, Carbs 9, and Fat 97 and his

formula is 23 grams of microlipid or Canola oil, 3 grams of polycose, and

173 ml of RCF, Thats only a little over a can of RCF a day.

How did you get 5 cans?

Thank You,

Cleofi Blass

PLEASE! Liquid Diet Help.....

Hopkins doesn't participate in NY's Medicaid program, so I have to

figure the calculations myself to determine how much of the

prescription they will cover....my local pediatrician will have to

write the prescriptions.

I am told Jimmy will require 5 bottles per day. I know this includes

RCF, Microlipid, and Polycose. Can anyone give me the approximate

dosages of each (Jimmy is approx 23 pounds and 2 years old)per bottle?

Medicaid pays for " 600 caloric units per month " total, of all 3

products. 1 caloric unit = calories per can divided by 100. I

figured that RCF is 81 cals per 100ml, there are 200ml per can, which

equals 243 caloric units per month (5 cans per day for 30 days).

And I thought math would NEVER come in handy!!!! Glad I paid

attention in class! PLEASE help me! I would like to get all of this

figured out so that I can have the formula I will need when we get

back home, as Hopkins says they will give you only enough to come

home with the day your child is released from the hospital!

Thanks!

Sue Ellen:)

I am not sure on how to calculate it all. But we have about three months supply

of all you need. We are no longer on the diet. We are in Texas but I am willing

to work something out with you to get to you the supplies we have. It may help

some. Email me at kmann@..., my school address and we can work

something out.

Cleofi,

You have at least one thing wrong there. Unless they have changed the

ingredients, microlipid is 50% fat. Canola oil is around 97% fat. They

are not interchangeable. You need 11.9 grams of canola oil to substitute

for 23 grams of microlipid.

Sorry that I have disregarded your legal notice on your email. Take

legal action against me if you want to. You should probably sue Yahoo

since they distributed it without your permission.

You might want to change it to a disclaimer for consequential damages!

Oh my!

Thats the formula that the nutrionist gave me and what they were using in

the hospital!

So as long as i use 11.9 of Mazola Right Blend or Microlipid, It'll be the

same thing?

Sorry about the disclaimer.... its on automatic lol

Thank You,

Cleofi Blass

Hospitals often make mistakes. Not too many patients are on the

ketogenic diet. Check and re-check everything. Don't trust anyone.

Use 11.9 gm of canola oil or 23 grams of microlipid.
