Guest guest
Hi Venita! Glad it's over, eh??? I know I was! Yes, the headache was a doozy...good that your husband was with you and took good care of you. Gee, I don't even remember being in recovery! LOL!! I think I got up and walked out....the nurse thought I was weird to begin with...ok, be nice! Anyhow, I had to chuckle...the sedation was that good for ya, eh? Rip out your kidneys, indeed! Read any good books? So did you get to see your "innards?" Did they make any comments? Now, it's a memory...don't think I'd rush to put it in my journal as one of the top ten, though...how about you? Lynn vsjsas3 wrote: Hello Everyone,Have not had a chance to read all the posts but wanted to let you know how things went with me. The day before the colonoscopy I couldn't eat anything, which wasn't a problem. Tuesday morning I got up at 6:00 a.m. and started my prep work at 6:15 (Colytely in the big jug). I had to drink 8 ounces every ten minutes. I had to finish drinking it all by 8:45, which I did. The cleaning started about 7:30 and I finished about 12:00. I took books and the newspaper in with me as I knew once I got started I may as well stay on the throne. I arose a couple of times because my left leg would go numb. I would give it a few good shakes and would have to quickly sit down.My procedure took place about 4:00 p.m. It was great! I did not sleep at all the night before and being sedated felt so good. They could have ripped my kidneys out with their bear hands and I wouldn't have cared! I stayed in recovery for about 1/2 hour and then was sent home. My husband made me something to eat and after that I crashed. About 11:00 p.m. I got a headache but figured that once I got to sleep it would go away. My husband asked me if I wanted to take anything for it but I declined. Well I was never able to go to sleep because this headache developed into a superduper headache. It hurt so bad I was afraid to move. I finally had to wake my husband so that he could make me a piece of toast so that I could take some tylenol. I ate half of the toast and took the tylenol and laid down. After about an hour I was able to go to sleep and when I finally woke up I still had a headache but at least I could function. I remember Lynn mentioning that she had a headache after hers also.I am pretty sure it had to do with the sedative or the pain medication given. Guest guest
Hi Lynn, He said that everything looked okay and there were know polyps. He gave me pictures of it. I did get a chance to view it while it was being done. I remembered asking a few questions but was in and out. How are you today? I read your posts and I hate that you have been having such a bad time lately. I hope that you are doing better today and that you will have an even better weekend. Guest guest
Hi Venita... so glad your colonoscopy is over. Never a pleasant experience. Just as everyone says, the worst part is the preparation. Guest guest
Venita, I was really out of it too during mine but, I was still alert enough to watch the screen and I thought it was pretty neat. I am a little weird like that..... I guess maybe a morbid curiosity!! Your husband sounds like a gem. A real keeper, huh? Glad your son enjoyed his first day of school. Its hard on the parents more I think....but they are so cute at this age. Take care, Zanna
