You are correct in stating that club soda is a great way to go instead of any artificial sweeteners. But I would never have suggested saccharin's use if there was any basis to the cancer claims. I have researched this for over 40 years. One must be careful of politics and economics in research and saccharin fell under the onslaught of aspartame's hype. " Carol F. Toronto, Celiac, SCD 4 yrs. Guest guest
I've gotten them at Acme supermarket, which in the West used to be called Alpha Beta. I also got them at the local health/organic food market. diet soft drinks > > > > > > Hi Everyone > > > > Does anyone know of a brand of diet soft drink sweetened with saccharin? > Elaine mentions in her book that 2-3 per week would be permissible and > during the holiday season we may like to somewhat indulge. > > > > Thanks > > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > > Post your free ad now! " I have not seen these and I have no idea whether they are legal, but don't forget that Welch's, Tropicana and Dole Pineapple juices can all be bought in single serving sized containers. You can mix them with sparking water to make a fizzy drink for your child. Jody mom to -5 and -8 SCD 22 months
Guest guest
Here's something that is realllly reallly yummy - take frozen 100% juice concentrate and mix a couple of spoonfulls in club soda - voila! Instant soda and very yummy and you can flavor as weak or as strong as you want! Here's the problem - frozen juice concentrate is illegal because it was found most had undisclosed added sugar to the concentrate. I don't like to make this with plain juice because it doesn't add enough flavor. Does anyone know of a juice concentrate that truly is 100% legal? I haven't made any since we started SCD because I don't want to accidentally consume illegals. Guest guest
I make spritzers from the just juice line. About 1/4 juice and the rest club soda. If you mix the blueberry it kinda tastes like a wine. The kids love them for a special treat. I haven't made any since we started SCD because I don't want to accidentally consume illegals. No, I haven't found any. I like grape juice diluted with club soda and find it plenty sweet. Half juice half club soda. Perhaps you can make your own juice concentrates by simmering down legal juices or fruit. You could also stir in a little honey or saccharine to up the sweetness. If I use honey I 'll warm it with a couple of drops of boiling water so that it will disperse evenly through the liquid. I like to do this with frozen cubes of squeezed lemon or lime juice and club soda. Sheila 46 mos SCD, 20 yrs UC mom of SCD 31 mos

Guest guest
Knudsen has little bottles of liquid Black Cherry Juice concentrate. That's it for the ingredients listed on the label. I bought this at Whole Foods. I haven't tasted it yet. Re: diet soft drinks > > > Does anyone know of a juice concentrate that truly > > is 100% legal?
