Guest guest
Welcome back Terri!! We are crossing our fingers here!! Hugs Merry **I'm baaaack*** Hi everyone, Not sure if any of you will remember me.....but....I'm Terri from Texas. I had my LAP RNY in February 2001. During my 6 month post-op time frame, I found out I was pregant. After being infertile for 8+ years, we were THRILLED. We do have a 10 year old son, Garrett. My husband, Lonnie, and I have been married for 12 years. Anyway, during my 22nd week of pregnancy, I unexpectedly went into premature labor. After being admitted to the hospital, I found out I had a uterine or bladder infection, they were not sure which......my bag of waters was bulging and I was dilated to a 5 already and was not even aware that I was in labor. My pain was not that bad.......after being transported to a critical care hospital with a neonatal unit, my bag of waters broke and I was fully dilated upon arrival at the new hospital. Within an hour, I had delivered our daughter. She was tiny, just weighing 15 oz. and she was 11 1/2 inches long. We named her Maci Kay. The doctors tried to save her but she was too tiny to survive. She was alive when she was born and had a heartbeat but she never drew a breath.....her lungs were not developed enough........We had her on Dec. 31, 2001. What a New Year's Eve to remember......It's been nearly 6 months since that time. We have been thru alot.....I had surgery in February and lost my job in May.....BUT, we know that things happen for a reason. We are trying to be strong and endure it all. When doors close, windows open and we truly live by this......So.....we found a new OB and he has tested me and done bloodwork. He told me that there is NO reason that Maci should have been born prematurely. He said that infection should have been detected by my other OB.....but my OB at the time NEVER did bloodwork or took urine samples, did blood pressure checks, or anything. So.....that is why it happened...the infection was never detected........So my new OB has given me the " green light " to start trying to conceive again. We starting trying in April.....no luck yet....but I am hoping that I might be pregnant now....I will know something by June 30th.....hopefully!!!! Keep us in your prayers....I am subscribing again and I read all the posts each and every day.......Thanks to all of you for your support during that most difficult time.......your kindness was much appreciated...... Lots of love Terri Wilkes Burnet, Texas 320/180/165 5'9 Age: 37 -140 pounds LAP RNY was 2.16.01 with Dr. Wongsa in Houston Hernia repair/gallbladder removal was 2.8.02 Delivered and lost Maci Kay on Dec. 31, 2001 Trying to conceive Children are a blessing, and a gift from the Lord. -Psalm 127:

Guest guest
Terri, Good luck to you! I know how scary it can be. I am only 4 months post-op and 9 weeks pregnant. But, 4 years ago I lost my full-term baby girl andra Marie. I was hit by a drunk driver at 39 weeks and Dr.'s failed to diagnose my lacerated spleen so I nearly died and I lost my baby girl. God Bless You! -
