Guest guest
Hi, My daughter is turning 2 next month and is still only 21 pounds. She also looks grossly underweight, but her energy level is very high. She is on a GFCF diet. She has no dislikes (yet) and eats everything. Can you give me ideas about what GFCFSF foods help to gain more calories? Increasing the quantity of food has not worked. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks Real

When we started this diet I was concerned that my already thin daughter would lose weight, so I was referred by my doctor to a nutritionist at the local children's clinic. The nutritionist told us to give her a high calorie snack right before bedtime to help her put on some weight. We give both our kids yogurt smoothies now as a bedtime snack(yogurt, banana, honey , mango, pear juice). I suppose you could use the nut yogurt if you are dairy free, or some other high calorie snack. Good luck! Mom to 5yr old daughter, ASD p.s. We did not have any problems with weight loss and as such were discharged from the nutrition clinic after a short time.
