Guest guest
I am just starting my daughter on the scd diet and I realized that almost all of the supplements I am giving her are on the no no list. I currently purchase them from Kirkman. I need to replace: supernuthera tmg pro-bio gold (pro-biotics) zinc The calcium and magnesium will need to be replaced but I do believe I can get legal versions from Kirkman. Does anyone have any suggestions of where I might get legal versions of these supplements. And also my daughter does not swallow pills yet. thankyou
Guest guest
Welcome to the list , > I am just starting my daughter on the scd diet and I realized that > almost all of the supplements I am giving her are on the no no list. > I currently purchase them from Kirkman. > I need to replace: > supernuthera > tmg > pro-bio gold (pro-biotics) > zinc There is a list of legal and illegal suplements at http://pecanbread.com/supplements.html Many supplements can be ground with a mortar and pestle (from a pharmacy) and added to applesauce etc. Others in capsules can be opened and sprinkled into food. (If vitamins it should be cold/cool/room temperature foods - heat will destroy many vitamins) A list of legal probiotics can be found at http://pecanbread.com/probiotics.html#brands There is lots of more great info at http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/ http://pecanbread.com/ specifically for newbies: http://pecanbread.com/foodprep.html#transition http://pecanbread.com/foodprep.html#intro http://pecanbread.com/foodprep.html#menu Sheila 45 mos SCD, 20 yrs UC mom of SCD 30 mos
Guest guest
Hi , I am in the same boat as you... getting ready to start and trying to find the legals (food and supplements) I can get into my son. The only ones I know that might have a legal alternative for you: TMG - www.lef.org (life extension foundation) - they sell a powder that we use that is only TMG. Zinc - I think brainchild nutrionals makes a SCD legal version. I think its actually listed on the pecanbread legal list, but you might want to double check. For Supernuthera, we are primarily using that for the B-6 - we have switched to the Kirkman P5P/Magnesium capsules. We open these up and mix it with a liquid. P5P is a source or a form of B6, not sure the technical terms for it, but our DAN doctor said we could use that as a replacement. Hope this helps. > > > I am just starting my daughter on the scd diet and I realized that > almost all of the supplements I am giving her are on the no no list. > I currently purchase them from Kirkman. > I need to replace: > supernuthera > tmg > pro-bio gold (pro-biotics) > zinc > > The calcium and magnesium will need to be replaced but I do believe I > can get legal versions from Kirkman. > Does anyone have any suggestions of where I might get legal versions > of these supplements. Guest guest
There are tons of legal Kirkman Products. Why don't you just order a catalog or download the catalog from their website. We use the NuThera w/o A & D (because we do CLO). They also sell legal TMG in a capsule. If your child cannot swallow a capsule, you can just dump the capsule contents into something and give it that way. They sell a legal zinc too. I am sure that there are other legal brands of supplements too, but I don't think you've looked completely through Kirkman's choices.
