I was given tape remover in the hospital-made by 3-M, it was a wipe soaked

in some kind of adhesive remover. I tackled the tape that they put in my

groin area when they did the tendon release-NO WAY was I letting anyone rip

that tape off!!! Worked like a charm. Nail polish remover or alcohol may

work as well...

Deb,

I haven't tried it on my own bad self, but I have found that many adhesives

(tape, price gun tags, etc) have been easily removed with vegetable oil.

Just go slow and use enough to wet a small area at a time, then peel back

while using a sponge or paper towel to keep the area saturated.

Deb-

Try " Goo Gone " . You can purchase it at hardware stores, Meijer,

etc. It is used to take sticky residue (adhesive left when you pull

off the pressure sensitive label) off of furniture, etc.

Good Luck,

Doug

My spunky little Grandma (93 and sharp as a tack) suffered a
hematoma in her forearm - it's clearing up, but I noticed that the
hospital folks had put a piece of & quot;tape & quot; over her arm

where the vein
had broken.

I use the word & quot;Tape & quot; very loosely, since I recognised it

as the
cross between Super Glue and Saran Wrap that had covered the

bandage
for my incision. & nbsp; And when they pulled it off my hip, it took

chunks
of flesh with it!! & nbsp; That hurt worse than the incision ever

did!

But Grandma's skin is already like tissue paper - I'm afraid that

if
they try to pull it off, it'll peel her entire forearm to the

bones.

Any suggestions I can pass along to her on how to get the stuff off

without losing flesh??
Thanks from both of us! & nbsp; Deb and Grandma
What about nail polish remover? It;s essentially acentone, so

you will need to wash the area well with soap & water afterwards

Hi Isobel! I'm giggling, because " fish and chips " are about as rare

around here as unicorns! But I get what you mean - the cooking oil

will loosen things up. Turns out that the visiting nurse told

Grandma to leave it on until it falls off - it's sort of reinforcing

her paper-thin skin. And I passed along all the great suggestions I

got, and she sends her thanks - along with the promise that if

anyone tries to rip it off, she's gonna " rip their lips

off " ....she's a feisty one!! Pure Viking; and it shows!
