Guest guest
Hey again everyone. As you can see from the title i'm a little fed up. I found out i had two uteruses in february....so obviously a little bit of prodding about ensued by a few doctors. Went to see a consultant gynaecologist, so prodding happened then too, with of course students looking up me...very dignified all this i must say. She sent me for a trans vaginal ultra sound and abdo ultra sound...bit more prodding. They found i had uterus didelphys. Then I got sent for a scan of my kidneys, or should i say kidney, I only have the one apparently. I got told this was fine, but that they needed to know and i should be fine, as so far i have survived 20 years without them knowing. After that my doctor told me that i shouldn't have to have anything else done until i wanted to concieve or if i had problems with my kidney. But she rang up a consultant urologist to see if he thought it would be alright. She then rang me and said that he would like to see me...and put a camera inside my bladder for a look around. I'm impressed that they're taking care of me so well, but i'm so fed up with things being put inside of me and everything seeming so undignified. I got a little upset but my boyfriend is being very supportive bless him, I just don't like to keep going to the doctors/hospital. Oh well, thanks for letting me moan for a bit. Any advice would be great. Has anyone else had to have a flexible cystoscopy? Thanks again Ros 20 UD One Kidney
Guest guest
Hi, Ros! Yeah...there is a fine line between " being taken care of " and being examined as a curiosity! I'd ask (if you haven't already) what the purpose of the next test is. When my UD was discovered, they did a dye test (don't recall the name) to make sure that the kidneys were functioning correctly and how many and where they were. Because mine were " normal " and working they didn't have to do anything else. There is one more test that I should have done - a Hysterosalpingogram I believe - to figure out if one of the uteri is better than the other. One thing that I have been reading a lot about is weight and fertility. I don't know if this is an issue for you or not, but I def. need to drop some pounds - evidently, that can really reduce your fertility - maybe so far as to even suppress ovulation. > > I'm impressed that they're taking care of me so well, but i'm so fed > up with things being put inside of me and everything seeming so > undignified.
