Guest guest
Sheryl, I too am a uu and have suffered through 5 miscarriages. My first pregnancy was in September of 2002. I was 13wks when I started bleeding. I was told that it was a blighted ovum (not related to uu) and miscarried a couple of days later. I took a year off from ttc. Within the last 9 months I've been pregnant and miscarried 4 more times - all prior to 8 wks. I only received one ultrasound for these pregnancies. Nothing even showed up on this u/s. It was not until my third pregnancy that they discovered my uu. I was showing signs of an ectopic pregnancy (severe chest pain). I was rushed for surgery and they removed my left non-communicating tube along with the pregnancy. I was told that the pregnancy occured on the right side but instead of going into the good tube, it migrated across my body into the non-attached tube. Because the tube was non- communicating it was destined to be ectopic. After discovering my uu, I miscarried two additional times prior to 8 wks. Five miscarriages later, I was still not referred to a specialist! I was just this September that I finally saw a specialist for the first time. The doctors are not sure why I'm miscarrying. They've asked me to put my ttc on hold until all tests are completed. I've been sent for a slew of blood tests and a thyroid ultrasound. I will be getting the results next week. Next thursday I'm also scheduled for an HSG. One of my blood tests did come back slightly abnormal. It was called an APC ratio (Active Protein C Resistance ration) I've yet to discuss the results with my doctor but it has something to do with blood clotting. Have you been tested for this? I've also heard from other uu'ers that there is often poor blood supply going to the baby because of the underdeveloped uterus and arteries. Have you had any u/s for any of your pregnancies? What did they show? Please keep me updated on your possible pregnancy and treatments. I feel our stories are similar and we may be able to learn from each other what tests to have our doctors perform. I wish you the best of luck!! , 27 uu m/c *
Guest guest
, I got the call yesterday from my specialist and the test was positive. I am 5wks today. I'm excited and scared at the same time. I'm trying to be very positive. I think you should go through all the testing first before ttc again. Maybe they'll come up with some answers. I am taking 400mg progesterone a twice a day and a baby aspirin once a day. I'll continue that until they tell me not to. The only thing I might do this time is ask them to wait until 8wks for the ultrasound. They usually to them at 6wks on me. It seems like everytime I have an ultrsound the 1st one is fine. Then I go back for the 2nd one and the there is no heartbeat and no growth since the 1st one. Not that that has anything to do with the us, its just weird. I would love to talk to you. I got your email at home, but am unable to send you an email back to the stacykyle2003 address. Let me know what your correct address is. Thanks for you reply and best of luck to you as well. Guest guest
Sheryl, Hey, I noticed you were from Phoenix and wondered if you would mind telling who your specialist is, as my brother and his wife need a specialist in the Phoenix area. And congrats on the pregnancy!!! Good luck, , 25, SU
Guest guest
, I go to Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists. I see Dr. Mark . He is very personable and understanding. Also he is very easy to talk to and answers any questions you have. I started out seeing Dr. Moffitt and switched later on. The website for them is www.arizonarms.com and their phone is . Is your sister-in-law a uu? I've looked for someone here that is a uu, but haven't had any luck. Good luck to you as well. Guest guest
Thanks Sheryl. Actually, I think my sister in law is normal, but my brother has problems (no sperm in his seminal fluid). They found out he is producing sperm, but very few and they don't know where it is. He is seeing Dr. Gunnala at Southwest Fertility Clinic, but I wanted to e-mail him this info in case they need a second opinion. Thank you very much. > > I go to Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists. I see Dr. Mark > . He is very personable and understanding.
