Hi I just wanted to tell you our D.A.N. Dr was pleased

by what we were telling him and he was seeing in our

son Gavin at our appointment on Monday. We drive 3

hours one way to see this Dr. Our son sits so nicely

in the car, playing with toys, writing words, looking

at books, just being very well behaved. :o) Which is

a blessing. 6 hours in a car for anyone is a not fun.

You will be happy to know that last visit August 30

our son weighed 48.2. This visit he weighed in at

50.8 SO I told the teacher he is gaining weight on

this diet, no need to worry he is starving. :o) Plus

the Dr wrote a note about how important this diet is

for our son since he has such yeast overgrowth issues

and had constipation issues as well which have all

gotten better because of this SCD.

Our son held the Dr hand, had great eye contact with

him. Was not verbally stimming or stimming on

anything at all. Not even hyper. The Dr was totally

amazed. He has seen our son where he can not even sit

down. He will turn on and off the lights, will line

up cars, will walk back and forth the same area over

and over again looking out of the courner of his eyes.

This Dr. has treated Gavin for 2 years now for yeast,

constipation, hyperactivity, diet issues, you name it.

He was impressed by how well he is doing.

We plan to start Folic Acid, TMG and B-12 shots. I

hope all of which is ok to do while doing the SCD. I

have decided to back up alittle bit with the diet as

well. I think I introduced foods too quickly. I made

up a bunch of hamburgers today. ALL with ONLY squash

added to them. Then a bunch with ONLY spinach, then

ONLY carrots, you get the idea. How many days should

I give him ONLY that type of food to see if he has a

reaction to it? 3 - 4 or is that too short of time?

He is totally amazing me though with some of the

things he is doing. The Dr thinks that now with the B

12 shots he will not be so hyper cause before on the

GFCF diet he was getting so many carbs and that was

just setting him off.

I did notice today that he was biting on his sleave of

his shirt he has NEVER done that before? Any thought

to as why he would do that? And he would not sit in

the bathtub tonight for his bath? Sensory

maybe...hhhmm ALways something with these kids. :o)

Thanks to all who have helped me with my ? and

problems in the past few months.

Does anyone have any ideas for crunchy snacky type

items????? He does not eat the carrot curls, or the

squash fries. He was not even fond of any cookie or

bar today :( He just wanted his meat and veggies and

eggs. I need to get some different type foods in him.

I will try to offer him pear sauce EVERY DAY or

applesauce and sooner or later he will HAVE to eat it,

or taste it. :o)

Sorry so long I will shut up now. ((hugs))

Are you planning to give a copy of the note to his teacher ;)

They are some legal versions of TMG at

http://pecanbread.com/supplements.html

It depends on him. 3-4 days is usually a pretty good amount of time,

but it really depends on him. I'll know pretty quickly but some

people can take 4-5 days.

Has he already started on the shots? Anything else new?

Any chance he is getting new teeth?
